... as a direct result of the AFL giving the Lions poorer FA compensation than they anticipated for Leuenberger, increasing their need for points for Academy prospects...
... would this be the first time in the AFL's history in which rule changes/external influences have conspired to assist Collingwood?
I'm thinking of the father-son bidding system coming in a year too late for us to get Selwood in 2006, the AFL giving Melbourne pick #3 last year for bloody Frawley as FA compo so they wouldn't have to give them a priority pick, the option of going into the National Draft not being an option for Nick Stevens... you get the idea.
