Firstly, he's a babyface who's far from over. The WWE needs to forget the dollars the make the sensible, logical decision. You can't have your Number One (arguably) face coming out to boo's from 50% of the crowd. Take the screaming girls out (and I should add I don't know why, good body yes but he certainly is no Randy Orton :thumbsu:) and it'd be predominantly boos.

I won't even get into the quality of his matches, or the tiredness of his gimic (I guess I sort of just did), but the other main reason is,

Edge having deservedly won the title for the second time, and doing a very good job as the number one heel on Raw hasn't actually fueded with anyone else in his title reign and definitely doesn't deserve to lose the belt to Cena, the man he won it from.

I get the feeling with Summerslam being in Boston, Cena's hometown that they might just do what to logically, fair-minded people would deem as the unthinkable and give Cena the belt back.

I hope after watching Raw tonight that Carlito is given a chance to feud with Edge for the title :thumbsu:

Cena needs to either turn heel (still a must and has been for a long time) or go away from the title battles for a while and feud with someone who isn't main event.

Orton isn't actually very good looking. On Cena, i'm warming to him a bit more recently, but I don't want him as champion.

Kurt Angle makes everyone look better in the ring.

Orton not good looking Buddhy? When he comes out the screaming isn't confined to the ladies ;)

And the reason I think he's wrestling matches against Matt Striker and Viscera is that he has nobody else to wrestle with leading into Summerslam, so giving him fairly easy wins against lower card opponents is the way they've gone.

Edge deserves a longer reign as champion and here's hoping he retains at Summerslam.

Im hoping Edge retains and goes on to face HHH.
But with Cena's movie coming out in October Vince will want to promote it the best he can, what better promotion then "Starring WWE Champion John Cena".

Yeh, on first look, you could say he's an alright lookin bloke and understand why the women drool over him. But during the stupid Hogan skit the other week, I realised he actually looks quite stupid.

i agree, edge is a good champion, cena's gimmick is soo boring now, and just get's boo'd every time he wrestles
i still think kane should get a title reign for his commitment to the wwe, especially since he will be retiring next year

*SPOILERS*

Cena is booked to win at Summerslam in his home town. The main event for Unforgiven is going to be a TLC match in Edge's home town and Edge will win. Edge will more then likely have the title at the end of the feud. That's what's booked now, but it's WWE, so who knows what'll happen.

I agree with you about the need for Edge to take Cena again at Summerslam,
in spite of the match being held in Cena's hometown. As the matches aren't
planned nor scripted I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the match
unfolds. The danger is that Edge really needs to ditch Lita (she really has
let herself go and is a poor excuse for a 'Diva'), and given the Rated R
Superstar's talents he could and should be upgrading. By ditching Lita and
getting himself a more appropriate missus, he could then team up again with
Johnny Nitro and the honey dip Melina and charge off on a Tag Team quest to
rival The Spirit Squad and DX. A competitive three way battle for the Tag
team championship, still with newcomers the Highlanders offering a fourth
option would re-invigorate the pairs.

That would release Cena to continue pressing for the WWE championship. It
has to be mentioned that physically, he is far more overwhelming a force
than Edge and justifies his continual pursuit of the #1 spot. His "FU" to
the 500 pound Love Machine Viscera on Raw two weeks ago is testament to
that. Sure the public's somewhat surprising 'hate' for Cena may end up
relegating him to a perennial championship match loser, but that too may be
just what the fans want.

Maybe after legend killer Randy Orton takes down Hulkamania, the WWE could
develop a feud with Cena? For mine I would think the Samoan Bulldozer Umaga
should continue to drive up as a championship contender. His Samoan Spike
has proven invincible. Should Umaga take the title down the track then Cena
(or Orton) could win back some crowd support as the 'US' main man. for
Umaga to then team up with Viscera would then make another fab pairing to
continue in the Tag Team championship in what would be its strongest
assembled field in years.

Would that starve the main belt though? I'd suggest not. The Undertaker
has about 1 - 2 years left and with the Great Khali rising in stature, the
championship could have the Deadman, the Great Khali, John Cena, Randy
Orton, Rey Mysterio, Umaga, King Booker and Carlito as competitors in the
main game. An explosive series of bouts with the likes of Rob Van Dam, Big
Show and Kurt Angle from ECW could then follow with the belts traversing
regularly between the two codes.

Im not going to really enjoy summerslam to much to be honest unless Angle makes an appearance its just not gonna be that good, which is sad considering that Summerslam usually is the better main event. There needs to be more raw vs sd matches. The only match im looking forward to is DX v the Macs anything can happen.

What also intirgues me at the moment is why Rebecca got booted out so early in the Diva 2006 search. Jen is rubbish, JT (my early fave) is just way sour, and while I was then a-hoping Layla would win, (heaps more dash than the other girls), in retrospect, she doesn't have Rebecca covered at all.

I feel numb.
