Think Tank If Clarko is such a good coach, why is Hawthorn knifing him?

Why is Jazzy Jeff knifing Clarko?

I wonder how some interstate teams would've gone if their star prospects who they've developed didn't want to go back to home to Victoria year after year?

Luckily we are a club that players don't want to leave and want to come to because of our renowned culture so we get the best of both worlds. How good is that?

Boy you are deluded.

Sydney is a fully owned and controlled subsidiary of the AFL. Can't even hold an AGM unless the boss is there.

How the * do you conclude that an over indulged pet has "culture".

Clarko has burnt out, nowhere near the durability of superior coaches like Longmire. Horse has the longevity of a 3200m stallion, Clarko is a little pony b*tch who burns out around the final bend and can't keep his team at the top. The John Longmire football club is going around for another lap at the top. Enjoy the next decade at the bottom, shitkicker.
Jeez mate, still not over 2014?

You're making it out as an accomplishment to win three premierships in a row on your home deck against interstate sides. If Horse had this luxury, those figures would be much different, so you can't use that claim. Clarko has burnt out. He couldn't get his new crop of players to work. Horse is taking a brand new team of kids back to the top quarter of the league, something Clarko failed at.
Was wah interstate, that old whinge, so your win over weagles means nothing coz it was interstate, give yourself a bone

Lets not forget Papely. And Mitchell. We could go on.

Sydney leaks players worse than Essendon does.
Way to completely disassemble any merits of your academy arguments and reinstating the go home factor, you numbskull. Thanks for being kind enough to add some examples.

No player wants to go to Carlton because they're an absolute atrocity of an organisation and have challenged for finals like once in 25 years. Not even the whole chequebook at Papley was enough to lure him into that junkyard, but you can keep dreaming.

LOL - our win against the Eagles was a neutral venue, you daft campaigner. Hawthorn's win over the Eagles in '15 though - not neutral. Not legitimate.

You do remember that Papley officially requested a trade to Carlton yeah?

Give yourself an uppercut. People around your club do that pretty regularly anyway don't they?

You are a true idiot.

Takes real talent. Well done.

Bullshit aside its a gutsy move, and a necessary one.

Otherwise we risk becoming the Al Clarkson Football Club and you can see how well that worked out for the Kevin Sheedy Football Club.

Mitchell may not succeed but the Clarko era must come to an end and the correct call is to terminate it when it suits Hawthorn, not when it suits him.
No individual is bigger than the club, no exceptions.
You been calling for Clarko s head for years now but all your swings kept missing .

Poor campaigner is cunningly short.

So it looks like Jeff Kennett is getting his way and Hawthorn's succession plan is in full swing, as pictured below:

Given Sam "charades" Mitchell will be left coaching a list that is almost all universally eligible for the Astra-Zennica vaccine while simultaneously trying to hide a bloodied knife next year, one has to ask why get rid of Clarkson at all? Isn't he a coaching messiah, a four time premiership coach with a direct phone line/espresso machine to Gil's office?
1 finals appearance in 5 years, it was time to go in a different direction.

Not really an old list anymore especially when Burgoyne goes at the end of the year and probably a few others

Merger time?

What are you talking about?

Plenty of overpaid, underperforming flankers go to Carlton. Williams, Martin, Saad, McGovern.
And let's not forget half of GWS' former NEAFL team.

They should have taken a look at the Richmond KB experiment to see how appointing a club legend as the coach works out
Yeah but then there's Voss...

ah, I mean Hird...

.. sorry, Buckley...

.. Hmmmm. Nevermind

I'm not sure if Allan Moffat (OBE) has seen year of the dog. I'm not that big into motorsports

Roos was a fan favourite supported over terry wallace allegedly

I was there, or at least nearby as Joe Public.

Roos was a players pick more than anything else. Publicly announced by the Swines "management" as definitely absolutely just keeping the chair warm untilthey found a proper coach.

Players said otherwise, and the great football loving Sydney public followed.

Its a formula that doesn't often work so well.

Having the AFL pumping resources and players in "whatever it takes" may have helped.
