Think Tank If Clarko is such a good coach, why is Hawthorn knifing him?

Why is Jazzy Jeff knifing Clarko?

So it looks like Jeff Kennett is getting his way and Hawthorn's succession plan is in full swing, as pictured below:

Given Sam "charades" Mitchell will be left coaching a list that is almost all universally eligible for the Astra-Zennica vaccine while simultaneously trying to hide a bloodied knife next year, one has to ask why get rid of Clarkson at all? Isn't he a coaching messiah, a four time premiership coach with a direct phone line/espresso machine to Gil's office?

countdown timer has started for me to change fred title "If Mofra is such a good poster why does he make stupid freds like this when there are already 20+ like it in the bay"

No, there aren't.

Bullshit aside its a gutsy move, and a necessary one.

Otherwise we risk becoming the Al Clarkson Football Club and you can see how well that worked out for the Kevin Sheedy Football Club.

Mitchell may not succeed but the Clarko era must come to an end and the correct call is to terminate it when it suits Hawthorn, not when it suits him.
No individual is bigger than the club, no exceptions.

A compelling argument, albeit several years too late. The pooch is already thoroughly screwed.

On a brighter note, we now have an answer to the tricky question: Is it The Al Clarkson Football Club, or is it The Jeff Kennett Football Club?

Clarko has burnt out, nowhere near the durability of superior coaches like Longmire. Horse has the longevity of a 3200m stallion, Clarko is a little pony bitch who burns out around the final bend and can't keep his team at the top. The John Longmire football club is going around for another lap at the top. Enjoy the next decade at the bottom, shitkicker.

It's as gutsy as the Pies succession plan.

In both cases, the coach didn't want to leave, and the club didn't want a "favourite son" to go elsewhere.

Worked out well for the Pies......watch this space.

Look, nobody hates Clarko more than I do, but that post is plain stupid.

Clarkson as a coach averages a Premiership per four years.

"The Stallion" manages a Premiership per 11 years. Make that 12years in 10 weeks time.

Longmire is fresh as a daisy because he's barely left the mounting yard.

You're making it out as an accomplishment to win three premierships in a row on your home deck against interstate sides. If Horse had this luxury, those figures would be much different, so you can't use that claim. Clarko has burnt out. He couldn't get his new crop of players to work. Horse is taking a brand new team of kids back to the top quarter of the league, something Clarko failed at.

This is the bay.

Clarko is an angry midget who only won 4 flags off the back of priority picks, top notch assistant coaches, the expansion club era and interstate grand final opponents.

Brendan Bolton would be an upgrade

Gland you're finally recognizing the truth.

This has shades of the Nafan/Malthouse hand over, it will all end in tears for the Bloomers.

Woulda shoulda coulda.

I'd offer you a tissue, but I don't care enough.

I wonder how some other coaches might have gone if they were able to lock away the best 500 to 800 juniors in NSW year after year?

Luckily we are a club that players don't want to leave and want to come to because of our renowned culture so we get the best of both worlds. How good is that?
