As it stands, Haradasun wouldnt be worth a pinch of ***** at stud. As a 3yo listed winner he would start off serving d-grade mares at about $2k per service. The $20m that was being bandied about was so obviously made up garbage its not funny.

$2,000 service fee- made up garbage, its not funny. are you serious almost famous??

some 1st season sires in 05 to compare with your service fee assessment.

significant hill= won 2 races, one at mornington and other at ballarat.never even placed in a black type race, by danehill and stands for $4000

seidnazar=won 1 from 12 starts, won a listed race, placed in blue diamond. service fee $6,600

murphys blu boy= similar to haradasun, big hype. won gr3 blue diamond prelude but then failed. this fella has a fair worse pedigree then haradasun but he still stands for $5,500

not a single doubt=another young horse who was tagged as the next big thing. he only won 2 listed races, was never placed in a gr1 event but still stands for $13,750

honestly i believe if he went to stud tomorow he would stand for between $15,000-$25,000. his breeding is very good, and all service fees have risen over the past few years.

Kempinksy - As good a 3yo as Elvstrom yet, because of injury his best win was a 3yo group 2. Started out at stud for about $3k.

Thanks for those last 3 examples but they hardly help your argument. They were speedy 2yos - exactly what the market wants and total opposites to Haradasun.

If you think Haradasun would stand for $15 - $25k with a total of two listed wins you are absolutely deluding yourself. The only mares he would be serving at that price would be the ones owned by Frank Tagg and co.

i really do query how much you know about your breeding

The service fee for Kempinsky in 2006 is $8,800 (inc gst).not sure what his service was in 05.i think it was 5-6k.

BUT you may have got into him cheaply this year because of the drought which has caused most stallions not to cover full books.

Seymour Vic 3660

yes kempinsky was just as good as elvis but after analysing his pedigree and talking to various bloodstock agents, the word is that all through kempinskys female line, there progeny are slow maturers and will be better suited over longer distances. kempinskys dam is tristalove x diamond lover.

hey almost famous, i think you would be embarassed to read over this now!!!

even before he won the george ryder, he would of stood at a large service fee. for example, churchill downs who has just been retired to blue gum farm for a service fee of $12,000. haradasun would murder churchill downs on the track. on the only downside, is churchill downs sire line is better.

you said 2k per service....LMAO

haradasuns female line is top class. he may still become a star when he matures. time will tell.

Churchill Downs had a group 2 win to his credit as well as a placing in the Golden Slipper. Of course he was going to stand for a reasonable amount. Just as a heads up for you mate, a group 2 is worth more at stud than a listed win. Pretty sure sons of Danehill are in higher demand that sons of Fusaichi Pegusus too.

True to a degree with the FuPeg/Danehill sons statement. Racetrack performance is still the number 1 factor in first season fees, followed by pedigree. Haradasun will command 35K plus now with each group 1 win adding to it. If he was by Danehill it would be 60Kplus now in my opinion. I'm not sure if you're comparing Churchill Downs and Haradasun though as on talent Haradasun blows him away. Also you can't just say that a G2 win is worth more at stud than a listed win. Generally you are correct but there are circumstances that can change that. For example stallion A can win the Adelaide cup and stallion B a listed 2yo sprint. I can tell you stallion B will stand for more in Australia. Not starting an argument and as I said I agree with you 75% but the breeding industry is not so black and white.
