It's like these people are ******ed. The reason they took 19 marks inside forward 50 is because we had no key forwards so McGovern had to play forward, completely crippling our structure at both ends. Yes, Melbourne dominated the midfield battle that day and that will indeed by a key factor in deciding who wins this game. However discounting how important structure is to AFL football teams is just moronic.
one less rotation all day - a mid back to cover McG etc etc. hell and we hit the front. So brave

Melbourne will beat West Coast, and this is why.

This caught my eye.

"Much was made of the absence of Josh Kennedy and (effectively) Jack Darling against Melbourne when they last met,
but none of the aforementioned problems will be healed by the return of these two".

I stopped at "When these two sides met at Optus Stadium in Round 22, a convincing win to the Dees was the result"

Ha, what a joke. How, in anyone’s book, was that convincing?? We were up with not long to go in the last, had all the momentum, and then a s**t call that went against us, every player stops, advantage paid, melksham seagull goal out the back as he did all day. Had it not been for that one moment, we were likely to score again and put the game away. They got 2 more late goals that made the result seem more convincing than it was. Much like our 16 point win over the pies. It was a one kick game pretty much. This just shows that so many in the media just rely on stats and score sheets to base their arguments around.

There’s a lot of very confident people in here, and to be honest I don’t know why. Melbourne have beaten us both times theyve played us here in the last 2 years, and JK and Darling are not necessarily known for standing up in finals.
Without NN, Gaff and Shephard, were not exactly at full strength. Very nervous about this game and I wonder what everyone is smoking to be so sure we’re gonna win.
lets take a look
Nic Nat - To be fair has not played a final for 3 years
Gaff - Agreed huge loss
Sheppard - Agreed massive

Melbourne
Lever - Massive Loss
Hogan - Same

So they are missing two guns V our two guns

Yep; only a one point margin between the melbourne loss and the collingwood win. Yet the Pies were 'unlucky to lose' whereas Melbourne beat us 'convincingly'. Pretty sure we had the lead later in the Melbourne game than Collingwood did in ours too. The way the media twists literally any situation to fit their narrative is just crazy.

As someone pointed out the other day;

The eagles beat a red-hot Collingwood at the MCG (a ground we have not beaten them at in a million years) earlier in the year; 'it was the loss Collingwood needed to have'

The eagles lose to Melbourne at home with no JK or JD; 'the win that set up melbournes season'

zzz

Is that it?!? Whateley made it sound like they had a 737...
They have got a 737 but Whateley is flying as well so there's only room for 8 people once his nose is on board

Found this quite amusing, and whilst relates to Freo still worth sharing as it just emphasises the Vic bias:
I don't want to defend the guy, but what he wrote isn't technically wrong or biased. Incompetent perhaps at a stretch.

No one taller than Cox has played the game.
