Is this the same journo who works for a sports broadcaster heavily dependent upon VFL to provide a product her network can broadcast and sell advertising for?

I can see her neutrality from here.

Her response is indicative of sycophantic Vic Media.

Which was part of the argument Clint was making.

She got the sack just before covid hit (thankfully).

I love how superior they are even at this time
I got told seriously by a Victorian yesterday that we are just lucky we have iron ore otherwise we would be broke and poor and hopeless and begging them for a handout.
Lol - the whole country would be broke without iron ore. Port Hedland is the biggest export port in the country.

No bleeding the AFL. Pull up stumps and walk away! The plebs don't want that though, as they crave their circus. The big wigs in WA want to keep their fat cat status. The entire system needs to be razed.
If you rid the AFL brand from the state as much as possible, tv networks are going to notice which could impact future deals. Pushing out Auskick and having our own grass roots program would be a good start. Might even get the kids to recognise the game as Australian Rules Football again, instead of thinking the sport is a corporation

I got what you were initially saying. I just want it to be taken a step further in order to make it a truly national competition. There's risk in what I propose, but the stars have aligned given what the AFL are going through at present to pull off such a play.

From the HS.

I don't disagree about Kelly TBH.

But blaming our forward line when the 2 games before this we didn't have JK.
We've also lost Cripps and Rioli.
Hard to kick sausages when it's not getting in there I would've thought.

He also gives Bont a like but nothing about the score review which is pretty typical from Robbo.

DISLIKES
1 GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TIM
West Coast recruited Tim Kelly to secure groundballs and right now it is 18th for groundball differential. The Eagles lost that stat by 27 to the Bulldogs on Sunday night. In simple terms, they don’t have enough ball winners — it’s a whole-ground issue —and a challenge for Kelly.

The other issue is a lack of scoring. In the past four weeks, they have kicked 61, 61, 60 and on Sunday night 47 points, this coming from a forward group everyone assumes is an offensive juggernaut. After quarter-time, they kicked three goals, and overall had a worrisome 27 inside-50s, their worst return of the year. The Eagles have problems and now must rely on Geelong beating Richmond on Friday night to get back into top-four contention.

The pleasure of living in Sydney, apart for the weayther and environment, is that you get to look down on melbourne as a wet, insular country town. Never heard of this so called D grade journalist here in the big city.

No surprises, no media coverage today of the incorrect ARC non-decision that directly impacted upon the final result of a match.

You would not even know that it happened unless you were watching last night.

The media got the the narrative they want of the "brave dogs". That a "review" system that keeps getting judgments incorrect remains in place, and has now arguably cost a team a victory is inconsequential if that team doesn't happen to be the one they are barracking for.

I can only imagine what the ensuing uproar would be like if the tables were turned and West Coast happened to be the beneficiaries of an incorrect ARC judgment that decided the match in their favour.

ARC is just another tool in the box for the broadcaster to add "excitement" to the match. They make the narrative call, find the footage to support it and there you go. How can we be looking at blurry nonsense for 2 minutes and a second after the decision is made we get a crystal clear reverse angle?

AFL has been marching steadily towards a betting vehicle dressed in sports entertainment clothing for some time.

Lol what idiots

Oh ...... I though that was a given.

Isn’t it a prerequisite to becoming a Freo Fan that you had to prove your idiocy.

Sort of a real Catch 22.
As the proof is verified by wanting to become a Freo Fan.

Forever Freo.

Umpire’s call was a goal. One angle looked like the ball was fully across the line before Gov touched it, from the other side it looked like a millimetre of the ball was still on the line.

Inconclusive, so it reverts to the umpire’s call. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

The issue is the AFL not having any decent technology for the ARC to use.

End of the day blaming that decision for why we lost is a scapegoat.
We played poorly and deserved to lose.

watched the game with my pies supporting mate. at the end he turned to me and said "ohh boy they're going to talk about that touched they robbed you guys of nonstop all week!"... when i replied "no mate, it won't get mentioned at all" he gave me the most befuddled look lmao. to be totally honest though i thought it was the right call. looked over the line on one angle and touched from another. inconclusive so umps call. what i want to know is how accurate these camera angles are. like if we're making calls based on a few mm the actual positioning of these cameras makes all the difference. and why the **** are they not using something with a higher fps? that's twice in two weeks now we've had a touched ball decision when the moment of impact has been between frames.
