In Hyde's defence, his last four games against Fremantle have been among the best of his career.

He's averaged 19 possessions, a goal a game (two in one game), and was clearly best on ground in one of these games (including the three Brownlow votes).

He's also a big ground player with good endurance, which is something you desperately need at Subiaco.

If we took a bunch of kids over who are a year or two off having the required endurance, we'd certainly get hammered. It's too early in the season to be deliberately going in with a side you know in advance hasn't got the legs to win at Subiaco.

It's highly unlikely Hyde is going to be a part of our future senior side, but for this particular match, I'm not upset about him being selected. Historically, both for the opposition and the ground, it's an ideal time to give him what may be his last (or certainly one of the last) chance.

I also think Crumden is spot on when he says we're rotating Hyde, Tivendale and Howat. The fact that Terry's not playing all three, or even two of them, says loud and clear that he knows the score.

Yeah people are going way overboard. Those saying they'll rip up their membership after 3 rounds.. and ONE WIN (anyone forget that?) are disgraceful. Let the season play out ffs.

people arnt going overboard, its an absolut farce that hyde has been selected, i thought he was named on the bench and i was angry but i realised he probably wouldnt play anyway. and now hes actually in the team WHAT THE ____ IS GOIN ON, how can someone that slow be getting a game at an Afl Club, How has he justified his selection

I totally agree with the team, except for hyde, im just trying to contemplate why is in in the team, im lost for words really
 
Everyone should calm down at least until the team runs onto the ground!

The players already know who is in and who is not!

Whether you are named on the bench or on the ground means nothing to whether you will play. Unfortunately Polo and Hughes picked up injuries at training.

Just wait guys before you "tear up" your memberships. It's not easy tearing up a plastic card!

white was running around in circles and hardly touched the ball, and looked tired and unable to show any anticipation or awareness.

Its more to do with the fact that the team has hardly changed from what it was this time two years ago, same duds, same flaws, and they don't look like changing any time soon.

We have to stop dropping young players after one game. It is pathetic, give them 3-4 games after all we are not exactly looking like a finals side so we may as well use this time to find out who can play a bit with some games under their belt.

I will not give up on any player who looks like he wants to be out there - Tambling has been in and under busting his guts. I reckon he deserves many more games because it will come together.

Our problem is our senior 6 are not good enough - compare them to the Top 8 clubs - they don't even come close.

There are so many players in our side who have peaked 3 or 4 years ago and just don't look like offering anything more than "serviceable" games.

Drop 1 or 2 each week after a bad loss. This Pettifer was going to get dropped anyway, if the theory about one of Hyde, Howat and Tivers - for Christ sake leave Tivers in the side - your going to get the same thing. Didn't we drop Tivers for Hyde last week? What are we going to do next week - drop Hyde for Tivers? Its like friggin kick to kick.

:)Yet, Krusty, hundreds on these here threads fell in love with Whitey after a stellar performance in the reserves against Geelong the other week.

Was a "must" inclusion, according to all those admirers.

A big, big gap between VFL and AFL.

Sorry, I saw nothing to justify the huge wraps some on here have on this guy....another over-eveluation of a Tigers listed player!

Hope he proves me wrong, but Krustyman got it right. Looked all at sea!
 
One of edwards and connors have to be playing as they can be our small crumbing forward. Connors has the potential to play Forward or Back and although his form aint that great i'd reckon he is ahead of Shane.

Hopefully both in and not Hyde.

You really are a tool supporter, what have you got? Do you think we should of named the Geelong backline to play for Richmond this week,if so then we could perhaps play the Geelong forward line and midfield as well, I'm sure their up to it, ffs grow up.:thumbsd:

Its 3 rounds and 3 years. I'm pretty sure everyone kept a lid on it until last week.

Its Terry's 4th year as coach into a 5 year contract, and thats what he is being judged by. No just 3 rounds

It is just 3 rounds in and we do have one win. We have played a maybe 4 good quarters of football out of 12 though. I would like to see Connors/Edwards in and definately Reiwoldt considering Petifer is out. White was good rd 1 for coburg. He might just need some real game time to find his feet. Having said that I would give it another couple of rounds and if we haven't shown some real improvement then start trying some players.
 
This is how I think we'll end up lining up. Only part I'm not sure on is whether Edwards plays or White gets another crack. Although it is disappoining that Hyde is straight back in I get the feeling that it wont be long before he is stamped as never to be picked again.

I think Bowden will travel with the team but will not play. The other 2 emergencies will be left in Melbourne and will only travel Saturday night if needed.
