Bit of talk Essendon will rest players currently playing a bit injured for Friday. Don’t think they are too fussed if they win this game tbh. It won’t change much for them, they can’t get a home final even if they win. Contrarily it’s high stakes for us, got a feeling we will win big Friday

But on a serious note, I don't think it works out. If we get there I think we more than likely meet Richmond. I haven't been alive long enough to know for sure but I'm guessing we owe them too.

If we beat Essendon we'll end up with a 15-7 record, same as last year. % is currently 117.8, last year ended up 120.4.

2018

Against Top 8 sides - 8 games, 1 win, 7 losses 81.64%
Bottom 8 sides - 14 games, 14 wins 0 losses 150.79%

2019

Against Top 8* sides - 11 games, 7 wins, 4 losses 103.25%
Bottom 8 sides - 11 games, 8 wins, 3 losses 133.56%

Question is, which H & A season was better, and which one would theoretically give us a better chance in the finals?

Does consistency in not losing games to mediocre/poor teams trump not being able to beat the best?

If we can play the sort of football we did on the weekend during the finals (a big if, I know) there's no reason for us to think we can't take down any of our opponents. We've already beaten 1st, 3rd and 4th and we missed the team in 2nd by a kick.


*For this hypothetical I'm using the 8 as it is as I can’t see WB losing to Adelaide and dropping out.

This year is better, even though we have lost to some teams we shouldn’t have lost to. Bloody need brissy to win on sunday and we will be in a really good position and chance for some some success
