If a kid is offered $2 million over two seasons to play for someone else and takes it - good luck to him.
GWS will not have a Premiership cup before we have our next one and I look forward to the media vultures descending on any such former Tigers the week after we win.
"How does it feel..."
Thankfully, not since SOS have we needed handouts and we have never needed handouts from the AFL - financial or gimme-rules (I reckon Gary March wants his time again from last week).
We can continue as a strong, prosperous club (and remember that word, people: CLUB) with or without this player or that. I don't care if they were #3, #2 or #1 in the draft. Our club prospers because of us - the members. Players come and go, coaches come and go, administrators come and go, but the membership - we, the army who love this CLUB - stick around a very long time.
Time enough to pick the on-field section up, dust it off and tell it to "get out there and eat 'em alive".
I know I love this club because of the people who make up this club - the members I've met over years and the passion of those people who travel thousands of kilometres every year to watch us play. I love the culture of the CLUB and the attitude of the CLUB and no single player is going to change that.
Ever.
