All though Geelong's streak they didn't have the gall to create a thread like this

...why is that
Wait wait I got this!

Because......they never had the chance to due to those damn Hawks ruining their chances :)

Haha god that's fun to think about. No wonder they cry about us continually on their board and have severe hatred for us. They are a little bit too obsessive though. Kinda sad and pathetic :)

I do remember many cat fans prematurely ejaculating at back2back in 08. Good times.

If we three-peat:
- I will be drunk for a week
- bay13 flogs will still find a way to call it a bradbury

I think you'll find the current Swans' excuse is that Umpire Stevic was the way to our premiership.
Apparently he is the only reason we beat Port, as well.

And I thought 2012 was the Bradbury ...

It is difficult to be humble when you support such a successful team.
For some perhaps.

We've been pretty crap over the journey as well, like 1925 until 1956, 1964-1970 and oh that's right that little period from 1994 to 2006, so perhaps humility comes more naturally to the older supporters.

After all, I've never seen nor heard Kennedy, Jeans, Parkin or Clarko utter one remotely arrogant word and they are pretty good role models.

Rubbing it into supporters from other clubs is so gauche. It is in no way remotely constructive.

Back to the OP.

If we won three in a row ... I will be stunned.

I said difficult, not impossible. You noted some bleak years, there. The mid-late sixties I was in my teens and it was often quite difficult to stick fat. My siblings had gone with some strange choices (Pies, Roos, Cats but I am sure they were just running with peer pressure). Dad had played for the Tigers and I was on my Pat Malone as a Hawk. There may have been other Hawk fans in the town, particularly after Norm Bussell was recruited, but I never knew them. I suffered a lot of stick during those years. Not a nice feeling at all. So you won't see me trolling other boards or the Bay.

Oh, and I would never, ever use the word 'gauche'.;)

I can not remember there being one other Hawks supporter in my primary or secondary school and my high school was the largest in Victoria. Young hawks supporters were exceeding thin on the ground in those days. I don't think I can't remember meeting another real (I exclude the rat lady as she was from NSW) hawks supporter in civil circles until the mid 80's.

Yep, neither do the players of the past or present big themselves up.

The thing is that you don't have to brag - they all know we are the greatest club most of them have seen!

Just shut up and they will come crawling!

It's interesting you put it that way, I never consider it necessary or interesting to troll other supporters to try and 'rub it in'. It's they who make it so bloomin obvious that their envy is everpresent.
Just take a look at some of the other boards' posts.
Their 'hate' for Hawthorn doesn't stem from interacting with Hawk supporters, it comes from our infuriating ability to be successful.
It's strange, I don't think Hawk supporters give two hoots who is successful when it isn't us in contention, but our sustained winning means more to them in some cases than their own clubs inability to find a formula for success. You'll often hear, 'please, anyone but hawthorn' in a forlorn cry to who might take the silverware come GF day.
I can't help it if it makes me smile to hear such self inflicted anguish.

From what I've seen on the main board, most of the time opposition supporters have a crack. When a Hawk responds or defends the future of the list etc, they're all of a sudden "arrogant Hawks". Just the way it is I guess.

I too don't feel the need to troll opposition club boards, their angst is sufficient. :D

I'm going to London next October for the semi finals, third place final, and final of the Rugby World Cup. If we three-peat, that holiday is bound to be a hoot - whether the Wallabies are still in contention or not. :p

I have to admit I would prefer to wallow in the success of back to back premierships til at least the start of next season before casting my eyes forward to the possibility of anything else. This discussion sort of cheapens the previous success. That is not to say we don't look good at this stage to have contiinued success.
