Wouldn't worry too much about Geelong, as in GF's we have their measure.

I don't think that something that occured 27 years ago would have much bearing on something happening today.

I should have put a smiley after my post as it was said with tongue in cheek I realise it's a long time ago, mind you in saying that not sure how Geelong will really go at seasons end as they haven't had too much pressure so far except Port which left them looking like second rate. If we don't get there wouldn't mind Adelaide or GWS to win the flag. More often than not the team that finishes 1st after H&A doesn't end up winning the flag. Time will tell if course.

1. GWS - It would feel like a home final, and we have a decent record against them
2. Adelaide- It would feel like a bipartisan final, and we have a decent record against them too
3. Richmond- Even when we had a poor record at the G, we did beat them there . If they make it, they will have peaked at the right time after a poor start.
4. Collingwood- our 3 recent wins at the G against them have given me confidence but they'll be extra driven .
5. Geelong- the form team of the competition this year. It would be nice if someone eliminates them in the prelim for us (ala Pies v. Tigers 2018

I just completed Squiggles auto tip ladder predictor which has us outright second on 16 wins. That spits out the following which I've tipped:

QF1 Cats v PIES
EF1 CROWS v Lions
EF2 TIGERS v Power
QF2 EAGLES v Giants

SF1 CATS v Crows
SF2 GIANTS v Tigers

PF1 PIES v Giants
PF2 EAGLES v Cats

GF EAGLES (to repeat the dose) v Pies

Pies essentially hosting that first QF against Cats is hugely important and probably the one game that flips the finals on its head.

Should we make it would like to play a team we haven't met in a GF yet - so that means no Geelong, Hawthorn, Swans or Collingwood, so being realistic I guess that means it's out of Richmond, Brisbane or GWS. Would like it to be GWS as they've been thereabouts for a few years now without having success and making it to a GF. Brisbane have time and even though they have been superb this year can't see them making the GF just yet.

If Geelong slip up and WCe and BNE go 1,2. Could easily be a bris n eagles grand final. No one would want to play at the Gabba or Optus.

Gold Coast would be good, but you'd probably need Hocking to decide in Round 23 to immediately have a televised lottery to determine Grand Finalists. So still possible.
