If you could guarantee me now that we would win a flag for the cost of Mundy leaving as I much as I have loved him in purple I would take it.
So to me that is a win semi-win type situation.
Who in their right mind wins a flag and then goes off to play at another club? Oh... nevermind.

OK, knowing how many of you feel about the West Australian and its reporting, we should take this piece with a block of salt. Notice there are no cited sources, no one from the team's or Mundy's camp quoted

Still worth a read and consideration: http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/af...l-with-fremantle/story-fniv64vs-1226971900467

We'll see...
Hey Gil caught the tailend of your call into 6PR after the game where Belly was very complimentary of you that must have made your day. Out of curiosity what was the gist of the call about?

I believe it because, as is often the case with Hackdorn and others of his ilk, he's just saying the bleeding obvious/most probable and dressing it up as 'news'.

So Mundy wants as long as contract as possible, at his age 4yrs is a stretch and is really the outside of what he's going to get, so he'll naturally ask for it (barring Sydney/Buddy type deal which, lets face it, is an ongoing practical joke on the rest of the comp). On the other hand, the club want flexibility etc. and they'll offer 2-3. The final deal will be something in the middle.

That's the lay of the land and it's not really that amazing. The only point of significance is that Mundy's first option is to stay, which again, is probably nothing new.

As for my opinion, I reckon we should offer the 4 with some pretty tight clauses on the 4th year like Saints apparently did with Dal.

All's well that ends well -- Mundy deal DONE!: http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/2014-07-01/mundy-signs

You know, it's very hard for me to think about slamming a fellow journo...but really. What a @#&%$@%&^ piece of writing that was yesterday. As I tell my HIGH SCHOOL journalism students: No sources + No quotes = No story! Or how about this formula: No sources x no quotes x no facts = TOTAL BS! I'm trying not to let my joy at Mundy re-signing outweigh the anger I feel over a total BS story that wouldn't even have been allowed to run in the high school newspaper I co-advise.

Welcome to the media over here ;) On the bright side - it's good to see the gloss coming off the Eagles a little in the media. No doubt start of next season it will be normal service resumed as far as sycophancy goes

It's from Hagdorn. Thank God.
This means the exact opposite. We've got him.

Hagdorn has no sources who tell him anything.
He makes stuff up based on what he does know, which is already in the public record.
He frequently gets things badly wrong. Eg Clutterbuck being banned, how the father son works in the last two weeks alone.
Spot on!

What's up, Wee? Thanks for listening to me babble on, on 6PR! :) Seriously, yes, it was great to get kind words from Belly -- who I actually met and chatted with in person 14 years ago outside a Nando's at a Melbourne mall during that year's Grand Final Week when he was a Kangaroo! I interviewed him by phone last year when I wrote one of my "Stateside Docker" column about last year's second Derby for the Freo website. I called in to him and Karl, jokingly saying I deserved a medal for being the first foreigner to correctly predict the winner of the Ross Glendinning Medal, as I'd done in a Twitter reply to Tim Gossage. From there, we just talked about game observations and when they asked me how my kicking is these days, I told them I routinely play kick to kick with a former Magpie who's one of my neighbors and that while my kicking's improved and my handballing and marking are solid, I still can't bounce the damn Sherrin! :D

He's like the anti kiss of death. Hopefully next week's article is "Why Freo Can't Win The Flag".
As he is the anti kiss of death, how about the following in a couple of weeks :-

" Pav Past It "

" Brad Hill Better Than Brother "

" Sandi Second To Nic Nat ... "

What's this, an garbage article with no sources and proven wrong 24 hours later?

Well done Hackdorn, your article is another shining example of News Corp. journalism.
