Beat me to it.

I would combine all the Coventrys with the addition of one Tateson, that would be the ultimate footballer. Then I would clone this Football Frankenstein 18 times, paint them purple and run around South Freo with the Premiership cup.

Glen Archer. I might give him a longer and more accurate kick, but that'd be about it.

Give me Kouta any day of the week. He can literally play any position on the field. Must be the most versatile player ever in the AFL.

Ten Simple DIY Steps To The Perfect Footballer

1. Brett Burton's athleticism
2. Wayne Carey's presence
3. Michael Voss's handballing
4. Stewie Loewe's marking (circa 91)
5. Peter Daicos's kicking
6. Duncan Kellaway's courage
7. Robert Harvey's elusiveness
8. Gary Ablett's freakishness
9. Michael Tuck's longevity

and finally ...
10. Spider Burton's height

Gotta be Kouta, he has a chiseled physique, upper body strength, speed, height and power. The guy can play any position on the field effectively and is a matchwinner (I'd replace his bung knee though)

The Perfect make up would be a mixture of

Carey's Body Strength

Archer' Courage

Voss' Skill & Leadership

Stevo's Heart

Hird's Vision

Ablett's Brilliance

&

Crawford's ability to pull chicks!!!

Ryan Lonie. Tall, fast, attacking, tight checking, strong overhead and footskills to die for. This kid will be a superstar..

Nathan Lonie is twice as good as 'Softie' Ryan.

Just throw Hird, Matera, Voss, Koutafides, Cousins, Lloyd and Worsfold (was gonna go Archer for a tough, intimidating footballer but Worsfold is a better leader so he gets the nod) into a blender and abra cadabra...you have the perfect footballer.

Trying to do all those things from such a great height will mean one knee reco per year.

The perfect footballer is Voss.
Brisbane Lions supporters have been getting cheesed with me all year for occasionally saying that without him they wouldn't be half the team they are.
When the chips are down he stands up every single time, and even more importantly he brings players with him.
That last point is what makes the difference between him and Buckley.

My ideal player would have the electrifying acceleration of McLeod, build of Kouta, foot skills of Akermanis, creative handball of Hird, courage of Archer and inspirational leadership of Voss.
I think they would be a more than handy utility.
