Well when i was younger i used to work at a farm where they had heaps of horses and i used to ride this one horse as he was my favorite and than one day he was run over on the farm by some loser guy who was backing out with one of those big forklifts, and its leg was broken and so they had to put him down! :(
Anyways the point is the name of the horse was "black magic" and it was this beautiful white horse and so if i ever had a horse i would defenetly call it black magic in its memory! :)

A mate of mine swears the first horse he races will be named after his three favourite neddies, Let's Elope, Veandercross and Mahogany.

Thus: Let's Mahogacross

Personally, I prefer the Ingham style of naming the horse as some sort of derivative from its sire and dam. For example, their Cup runner today was called Freemason, whose sire was Grand Lodge.

Being the sad individual I am, I will always look at the breeding of unraced two year olds to see if they've been given a "good" name.

If I ever get any horse sired by Danehill, it's going to be called Yding Skovhoj, which of course is the highest mountain in Denmark. Thus, a Dane hill.

I'm the same, i love the clever names derived out of the sire and dam.

eg: Bellotto - Don't Stop Talking = Yammer

Who was that 'Lewinsky' horse out of? It was very well named if my memory serves me correctly. :D

I know a girl who's family breeds racehorses, and actually asked for permission to call it Honolulu Lulu (Jan Berry personally emailed her and gave her the OK :) for those of you who don't know, it's a song title.)

Anyway.........tell us!!!!!!!!!!!!
