Only one correct way to umpire. If it's a free kick 10 minutes into the second quarter it's a free kick directly in front of goal with 5 seconds to go. A free kick resulting in a goal for said decision 10 minutes into the second quarter has the same effect on the scoreboard as making that decision in the dying seconds of a close game. That both don't get called out if incorrect is the bigger issue.true this.
And so when people say they want consistency of umpiring - they ignore the fact they want the last few minutes of a close game umpired completely differently.
I'm glad they're not consistent with this.
Eventually they'll use AI to do the umpiring and you'll end up seeing those 4 or 5 free kicks paid at the end and you'll all be crying out for the human judgement to be brought back in.
