anyone know a site where you can get old replays? there was one a few years ago that had years and years of games you could watch. i wouldnt mind cheering up by watching some old richo magic.

You need invites to the good sites now, all the free for all sites got taken down.

Or you can pay out your arse for name-a-game dvds that are likely to be in awful quality/not work  absolute joke.

Fun fact: I had lots of newspaper/magazine pictures of Richo on my wall as a kid, out of about 15 (roughly) of them, four of them were of him flipping the bird.

Anyone got footage of the hanger he took during State of Origin?

The one in 2008? If you mean that match, I have it on an old hard drive and I can try find the mark, I'll upload it to youtube

Not to be a smart ass but there were many a thread on BF where many Tiger supporters would continually bag him out and talk of trading him. I've been around long enough on BF to have seen shit like that and is one of the reasons I rarely post in here these days. And I reckon if I did dig out some of those threads, some of you may be a little embarrassed. Just a little pissed off as I remember the shit that used to be posted.

Yes Richo is a Richmond great and I have always loved the big fella. A more down to earth bloke you will not meet and is absolutely always genuine. He was a great mark and would have stood out even more in today's game with his contested marking ability. I always said that he had every right back then to give it to his teammates who would continually cough up the ball or not be able to get it to him when he was on a 60m lead. Time and again. Over and over.

Was going to post this. As much of a joke that it is, it pretty much sums it all up in 30 seconds.

Man is an absolute legend. His passion unsurpassed. He was a Richmond supporter on the ground.

He'd be my man to kick a goal if my life depended on it. At least I wouldn't die wondering.

This.

My biggest regret involving Richmond is not getting to see Richo have a final game

Seriously would've topped the turnout that Sheedy and Hird got, which was 88000 if I remember correctly. He was so loved, I reckon 90k against another big team would have been possible.
Cruel twist of fate really.

Dont take this the wrong way... but WGAF what Mike Sheehan thinks???

haha, well the guy must play his politics well. Notice there is nobody else that does this? When you find him / her let me know.

The sight of Daffy, Campbell and Richo flicking their long hair back in the 90's always brings a smile to my face. I think richo debuted at VFL park, and the commentators knew he was going to be something "special". Richo could turn a game on it's head in a quarter, or miss from the edge of the square. The game that stands out for me was the last time we won at the SCG. Would have been 2004 ? Richo kicked 7 in the pouring rain and he ran off the wing, taking a couple of bounces (in the puddles) and slotted through a goal. The man defied logic. I thought the "in the back" rule almost finished him, as he was an expert at protecting the space behind run and then running into an open goal. THAT bad decision against him (Essendon - Mal Michael) cost us the game, and the emotions of Richo were on full display. He loved Richmond. He almost won a brownlow starting on the wing in the twilight of his career. Something about the big Tasmanians - Hart, Roach and Richo - My favorite 3 players.

Does anyone know if the cho gets involved in any coaching at all. Just passing on knowledge to the forwards for example .....

If only he was born in a successful era, just about the only thing that gave us all hope through the long dark years of the 90's and 00's, it's great when you have a player that loves the club as much as we do.

First game was with Duncan Kellaway against the Saints at The G. I remember how he was so athletic that he would mark right in front of his opponent and just play on automatically. He would simply run away from them. Another memory was Richo kicking 6.8 in a loss against Carlton. They interviewed Silvagni post-game and asked him about playing on Richo. He just shook his head and alluded to Richo's athleticism. The 7 goal game at the SCG was great - a bloke near me started the Richo bagging at the first bounce. Richo had 4 by quarter time. Nice.

He was like a colt in those early days

Thought I'd add that when I was 10 years old I won a local club competition to attend an RFC function and sit next to Richo for dinner. I had a whole bunch of questions prepared to ask him but he ended up asking me more questions than I did of him. He's as genuine a man as you'll come across.
