Imagine if the AFL structured the season this way ?

If there is 1 thing I dislike, apart from fellow eagles supporters saying this season doesn't count like eagle-fan did, its aussi rules followers always trying to change our great game to be more like the English League. This is our game and it is original in all its ways, that is what makes it so special. I personally hate the way the soccer guys decide the premier. If ya not good enough to make it through and win the GF then tough luck, try again later. what makes it so hard to win a premiership, and so much sweeter when you do, is having to win the GF.
If ya want an English style game, FOLLOW THE ENGLISH PREM LEAUGUE AND LEAVE THE AFL ALONE.

Aussie Rules actually used to decide the premiers by who was on top of the ladder. And anyway, whether it is the same system used in soccer is irrelevant. Totally irrelevant. The sport itself is irrelevant. It's the "SYSTEM" that is important, since the posrt will always be the same. It could be lawn bowls or volleyball which adopts that system, for all I care. Top spot is simply the fairest way of deciding the years premier team, whilst retaining the Grand Final as the gratest day of the years, and as an event to aspire to in its own right.
