Why do we have to put up with Dwayne constantly barracking for the underdog

All commentators getting gooey over Cyril

Eddie and Brayswhaw barracking for their sides.

Dunstall and Dermie barracking for the Hawks

Healys bias towards Sydney

They should just call it as it is without the bias and clear barracking for a particular side or player.

I just want a TV game called for what it is. I dont want to hear Team A getting all the credit for plays and Team B doing the same or better and getting no Kudos at all.

I get the whole creating drama blah blah blah but....

Is it too much to ask for a balanced commentary of a game?

Brayshaw doesn't commentate on North games.
And name a game when Dunstall has ever barracked for the hawks? He criticises us more than anyone.

Dunstall barracking for the Hawks? Now I get Dermie but I rarely hear a good thing come out of Dunstall's mouth when he calls our games. It's almost like he's trying so hard not to sound biased.

Havn't heard Dunstall calling our games this year so I can't comment on that but atleast for the past couple of years it felt like he was hard on us.

It's a boys club looking after too many former players. Each game should have 2 professional play-by-play commentators and one special comments. Piss off with the party atmosphere.

Yeah it is shit.

They always barrack for the underdog, i guess because most viewers will be too. When the favourite pulls away by a big margin, the commentators switch, because the neutrals have switched off by then.

And then there is the general clown stuff from ch7 with their bum chum players and nicknames.

Put the radio (music) on instead.

Nope some wise mind in 7mate seems to love Dunstall barracking against the Swans week in week out. Always points out every free that should be paid against the Sydney however is silent when blatantly obvious frees should be paid the other way. I would much prefer Dunstall barracking for the Hawthorn games like Bruce Mcavaney does continually than listen to his rediculous bias against the Swans.

Pro commentators are the way to go. Dennis is good, and believe it or not Bruce was quite good before he went senile. Huddo okay and Clinton Grybas was simply the best

Would love just one Friday night with Bruce and Dennis in the box, and one boundary rider. Even just to see whether they've truly lost it before Dennis gets put out to pasture.

Ling just contradicts himself constantly, and Duck manages to bring up Alex Rance every time he opens his mouth - regardless of the game.

I'd like them to go down the path of WWE. Have two commentators, each going for each team. They can argue amongst themselves and openly barrack against each other.

They seem to think that a close game is the only thing of interest. Sometimes a bigger story develops and it gets completely overlooked by their blatant barracking. There's nothing more frustrating than watching a team play fantastic footy for 3 quarters, establish a 30-40 point lead and then having to listen to BT and co crap on about how "there's still time" and ridiculously overhype the losing team, when they've done nothing to warrant that level of excitement.

Surely Durwayne is the worst of the worst in terms of bias. His performance tonight was a disgrace, and he's the same when commentating on his beloved Port. And sheesh, can we stop with the "unbelievable" when someone kicks a goal which might be good but is of the kind kicked most weeks. And why oh why do the other commentators fawn over Ling's 'Captain Obvious' comments as though they've come from Tablets received from above.

There's a thread in the footy fourth estate which has a link to an article where a guardian writer rates most of the fox and seven commentators, which seems a neutral's perspective. The guardian article is well worth a read.

I saw some of the swans game tonight, commentary didn't seem to be that poor that it warrants 2 threads on the same topic.

Hate the bias displayed by the commentators, and the nauseating verbal pats on the back they give each other every time they call a play.... "You called it perfectly Dwayne, ....". Just talk about the game and leave the verbal circle jerk out of it.
