Kreuzer doesn't get close to Whitnall yet.

Neither does Grigg to Camporeale.

Hartlett isn't even near Rice either.
A number aren't yet - though most of the rest have the potential to get close to, or even surpass the previous wearer of their jumper.

Walker will never surpass SOS. Though he's my favourite player, what SOS (who incidentally was my favourite while he was still playing) achieved as a player was simply outstanding.

You are right in saying that most of the rest should surpass the previous wearer of the jumper.

I really like Grigga but I don't think he'll overtake Campo. Campo was my favourite player and even though he copped a lot of crap from Carlton supporters over the way he ended his career with us, he was still an excellent player for a long period of time. 233 games for 200 goals as a midfielder is a great achievement, one that I would be VERY surprised if Grigg got to.

216 games and 348 goals from Lance will also be hard to match for Kreuzer. He has every chance to reach that games tally but I doubt he'll make it in the goals department. Once again Lance copped a lot of crap for the way he ended his relationship with the club. But we must remember that he was the captain of this football club, and was an excellent player for the better part of 10 years. If Kreuze can get close we'll be doing brilliantly.

As for Hartlett and Rice, well, I have serious doubts that Harts will manage even 50 games, let alone 119 for Carlton (or 234 overall). Rice was fantastic for us.

There is no chance that Walker will get even close to the Team of the Century FB in terms of achievements in the AFL. If he gets half way then we will have done well.

They'll both be premiership players, though ;)

But by that logic you could say that Kreuzer is already better that Lance because he's had more hitouts. Let's talk apples and apples.

So what exactly does goals have to do with if Kreuzer will be as good as Whitnall? For all i care he can be a dominant ruckman and not kick one goal. But if he dominates for us around the ground and in the ruck then he has every bit of a chance to be better than Lance. You should know more than anyone that goals doen't necessarily make the player.

Poor Yoss, all that effort and the thread is (was) only rated one. Get voting, people :thumbsu:

Cheers b4f, I've never even taken notice of the stars, let alone voted on a thread's rating, so I voted 5 to make up for lost time ;)

BTW how/where did you get your red? I love a good war story...:)

But Lance has had more hitouts ;)

I wasn't the one that originally compared Kreuzer to Whitnall. Using stats or no stats, it's pretty obvious that Kreuzer is a long off reaching Whitnall, and he'll be an excellent player if he gets there and/or surpasses him.

Quick, quick: averages?

Though Lance will always be better coz he averages more family buckets a week than Kreuzer averages per year.

Let's revisit this after Krooz's 2nd year... ;-)

Geez I hate it when someone quotes the whole post only to add two lines at the bottom.

Nice work BY.:thumbsu:

I asked ODN to card me so I'd get away from BF and focus on my studies.

I was losing a war with myself. :(

I noticed that thread after I'd already asked, so did you get any study done in the past 24hours or you coming back for another taste of ODN's big stick?

Got about two hours of calc done before I lost focus and meandered about in the ether.

Currently at university reading through my Physics book, trying to get my head around electromagnetism.

Up until my card was lifted, that is. :p

The only player there that (how to put this) doesn't live up to in terms of potential because he still is young is Hartlett with Ricey's 23.

really?
