No doubt you've time trialled them.

Give Ellis a couple of years - he'll be v good for us. We already have bulls in Mitch, Lewis and Hodge. An outsider would compliment this group quite nicely.

Thomas has great evasive skills and is very clean with his hands but unless he adds 10kgs he'd get smashed in the middle.

Look we're never going to see eye to eye, what with the bias.

PS: Thomas does need to put on weight but he is 3kg's heavier then Ellis and 4cms shorter. Ellis needs a good 10kgs too.

Thats why they compare him to a player you so desperately tried to lure with big $$ - ie Dal Santo.

think that is pendlebury that gets compared to dal santo!!

ellis has shown nothing that he will ever make it as an AFL midifelder..........especially a better midfielder then thomas

he played BP-HBF for gippy, thomas at least had time spent in the middle as well as playing up forward

thomas has already shown he loves the big occasion, BOG in the TAC GF, stood up on ANZAC day, had a great debut etc.

thomas is actually heavier then ellis, and has shown he holds no fear, tackles above his weight, takes on big name players etc. when he bulks up he will be able to win his own ball just as he did at junior level

so why come in to a collingwood board and shoot down one of our talented youngsters, especially when ur comparing him to a bloke who is only playing school footy

Then why did the Hawks recruiting staff have Thomas rated AHEAD of Ellis? Ellis should be a fine player but his contested possession skills are non-existant and he is almost exclusively an outside player so to say he will be a top onballer (with the ability to play inside AND out) is drawing a very long bow. Ellis can only play wing at this stage and he might have thae type of body that can't put on weight. And saying Ellis will be better than Thomas or Pendlebury just smacks of ignorance. Perhaps you should watch Ellis play before you make your blanket comments because he has plenty of deficiencies just like all of the players in the 2005 draft class.
