Least effective players out of the seniors, most effective player from the Burgers in.

Plough is selecting on form in recent weeks. Little issue with this weeks picks.

Hughes didn't do enough at Coburg to justify his selection.

He and Schulz will need to kick a bag at 2nds level to earn a recall. Fair enough.

geez the coburg side will be pretty awesome this week

Maybe the thinking is to get the winning feeling happening with this group at Coburg. Seeing that as the better option than 'blooding them' in the AFL this year. Also Freo have been trying to prove they are a 'tough' side this year...and with Dessie and Sol. running around most games looking to bend heads back, maybe that is part of it too. Let Kingsley and Petts be in the spotlight!

Schulz has kicked 12 goals in 9 games harldy form that warrants him being played at present. First 4 weeks he had 9 last 4 weeks 3 goals (I am not counting the Cats game either). If that is what you guys want from a developing KP then we are in trouble. I would have expected Schulz to have kicked at least 20 goals by now average 2 a game but it is not happening. Last week he had 6 possies 3 in the first and 3 in the last, does anyone know what he was doing the other 2 quarters because I don't.

Hughes on the other hand was injured early in the year and came into the seniors for those 3 games and each week I heard the commentators mention he was blowing hard not long into the 3rd quarter of games and looking very tired. Better off letting him play at VFL level than run the risk of him picking up an injury like a torn muscle that would keep him out any way. After the split round there will be 10 games left I gather we will see a few more kids getting a run then. In the mean time we can only hope that Wallace is playing Kent to prove a point to these kids and that is just because your birth date is post 1987 it does not automatically entitle you to play a game of AFL. They must earn their spot and once there keep performing to keep their spot. Other wise we just get a team of kids who think every thing will come easy to them at least this way they have to earn it.

maybe the coach hasnt got ****ing clue and the win/loss ratio proves it

Wise selections.Id rather the kids get stuck in a winning envoirment at Coburg as a group rather than the one currently dished out by the Seniors.Let the senior group put in the hard yards for the rest of the year.
Dont get me wrong im not against giving the kids a go but only if their form warrants it.

I agree with Hyde coming back into the side, but not for Schultz. Hyde has eaisly been our best of the last 2 weeks, but should have come in for an unfit Polo or to give Edwards a rest.

They will load there F50 with talls, we have 2 tall defenders and 1 that can play tall. We are in alot of trouble. Either McGuane or Huges had to come in.

We will be slaughted this week, make no mistake.

IMO its all part of the plan to get coburg playing and winning finals, then the club's PR department can spin some line about how our youth are developing well and are tasting success which will start seeping through to the senior team.

If this was true, which I find unlikely, its because Richmond fans can't deal with the truth most of the time. It's gonna take a long time for us to be successful so be prepared for some more disappointment tiger fans.

What would you do then old wise one play the kids just for the sake of playing them? Simply put if they aren't performing then why should we reward them.

the obvious flip side to that is. the seniors havent performed to afl level for yrs why should we continue to reward them. damned if you do damned if you dont. logic says its better to give the long term duds the flick and fast track the kids and find out quickly which ones have the goods to make it.

sheesh the worst thing that can happen is we cop a belting or 2 as if it hasnt happened already playing the seniors. the good thing is we get games into our juniors and we might just find a few half decent long term propisitions.

Its a good point. However in comparison to our youngsters our seniors have been more consistant. The only players who have been lucky to get games have been:
- Tivendales game or two before he was dropped
- Hydes game or two before he was dropped
- Krakours first few games
- A few of Johnsons games, he will never be dropped though which is why i think he should go to the HBF
- Kent Kingsley tomorrow, Huges should be playing
- Thurstfield tomorrow, needs a rest after looking a little lost the last couple of weeks, bring McGuane in

Say what you will about Pettifer and a few others but I think they have their spots in the side because blokes who would play similar roles like your JON's and Meyers simply havent steped up.

The problem is we have been playing kids, 12-14 on average each week.

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tg-richmond-tigers

Go to that site and click on the results of each game it gives a break down of our average age and games played each week. Most weeks you'll find 12-14 players under 50 games and about 3-4 above 100. Will go up this week with Newman playing 100 though. We are playing them it just happens that they have not grabbed their chances and Wallace is now trying to win games with the old stagers to save face.

Great post :thumbsu:

He kind-of has a point, Terry is readying the young blokes for a Premiership this year.

Coburg 2007.

:D:D Let's hope it takes N.G.Brown 4-5 weeks at Coburg to declare a "100% fit, no risk policy", then we can let him play the last 2 games of the year at Coburg to make him elligible for finals :D:D

Nothing would please me more than seeing Brown, Riewoldt and Hughes taking Coburg to the Premiership!

It won't happen though, he's way too good for VFL.
