That's right folks, today is the day that history will be made.
When our humble little game becomes greater, bigger, grander, larger and more massive than those other sports that like to call themselves football, footy, footying and such as etc.
History is upon us.
For the first time anywhere ever in this solar system a young dedicated footballing elite will follow his father and grandfather and pull on the Navy Blue jumper for the first time.
Is it fitting that he does so against its greatest arch rival, the biggest sporting rivalry on the planet?.
No,not really, but it would make for more epic lols at nafan and fat heddie, when he bags more than their entire team.
Is Ed back from wily ol Fox's 80th birthday in the Mediterranean?.
If you haven't already,I'm sure most of you with a smart brain have, pop over to the Carlton board and have a gander at a post by KohPhi in our v pies thread.
He takes you through this rich tapestry of Silvagni and Carlton history and the impact emotionally it not only had on his life but 'all' our lives.
I had a tear in my eye it brought back so many memories, wonderful.
It's almost as good as that story called "The Day I Met Wayne Harmes".good times.
Now most of you will know the name Silvagni, but some of you youngins will need an education.
Firstly,Sergio Silvagni first strapped on the boots for the Blues in round 7 of 1958 and went on to become a dual Premiership player.
Well this is where today gets really interesting because Ol Serge had a son and named him Stephen.
Stephen Silvagni played for Carlton.
He is the Greatest Full Back to ever pull on a jumper.
Some idiot peabrain geelong flog will undoubtedly stumble in here all drunk or high on Meth (and that's just the women folk) and attempt to push a case for a former ok player called Mattew Scarlett being better.
But let me assure you kids that this is just a fallacy as David Dench from the kangas was superior to him but trailed young Silvagni by an enormous margin in the skill set to be regarded as the 'greatest full back of all time' stakes.
Now Ladies and Gentlemen, this is where it gets all really tingly excito to our collective bits,so "Roll up,Roll up" to the Greatest SHow on Earth.
Because little did most of you know that Stephen went on and had a young son with the greatest of all tv saleswomen in history and called him Jack.
That's right folks today real history will be made by this humble young man and the Grestest Australian Rules Football Club the Carlton Football Club.
The club with the most flags, the club that does other non related footy stuff the greatest as well.
Forget all those other so called memorable days in history,a man walks on the moon,a young Aaron Elvis shakes his hips all over tv,Elvis dies,Lennon is shot,Nelson Mandella is freed from bondage,Nelson is made to walk down the street with his pants around his ankles so everybody can laugh at him by that really tall guy,the Berlin Wall falls, the Twin Towers are attacked.
No no no friends, this is real history, you will remember this day and more than likely have this as your last dying memory and what a day that will be hey!?.
Sergio,Stephen and Jack.
I think this day from here on in should be known as Jack Sivagni Day.
The Day After The Last Day Of The End Of Financial Year Jack Silvagni Day.
Or TDATDOTEOFYJSD.
Or Jack Sivagni July 2nd Day.
JSJ2D for short, put it in your memory banks, calendars etc for future reference so we make it bigger than the grand final every year.
Lets all join hands and marvel at the third Silvagni to play for the Blues.
Our Jack, better than all the other Jack's combined as seen in that stoopid thread call 'who is the best Jack' or whatever.
Lol as if any of them had such a real talent and lineage and skillset as Our Jack Silvagni.
All other Jack's will simply be known as Simple Jack.
This,Our Jack is the realio dealio folks.
So,just to cap off this amazing thread, today we witness history,Carlton,Jack Sivagni son of Strphen son of Serge.
SOSOS.
Amazeballs, come and get them whilst they're hot.
Let's celebrate today in style brethren of the Bay and watch this young lad take a flying leap over a nobody backman for the pies and bag his first goal which will surely be the first of a record breaking number of goals to end his career as the President of the Earth.

Lucky for us you're good at gifs and stuff, because your footy nouse ain't too grouse, but thanks for participating oogs :thumbsu:
In all seriousness ... He was a hack of a fullback and should have never made the team of the century Geoff Southby (yes, a Carlton player) was a far superior player should have been named. Other more superior fullbacks ... David Dench, Kelvin Moore, Gary Pert

Wrong.
I saw all of those players live and none compare or are fit enough to tie his boots up.
After Stephen,I would have Dench followed by Southby and the rest can fight over the scraps.
The amazing thing with Stephen was that he also kicked a shit load of goals and took 'marks of the year'.
Talent.

The Silvagni's are the first legitimate 3 generation players at one club.
Here, have an amazeball for all your hard work and better luck next time.:thumbsu:
You've already been proven wrong - twice. So about as legitimate as your club's TPP in the early 2000's.

And even further back - Edward, Ted and David Cordner for the Demons. I guess that post about Hird was wrong after all.
Look at the quality of those other 3 generation players. Hirds dad barely even got out on the park. Never even heard of the Cordners, two in your TOTC apparently though... and Hawthorn traded a Kennedy

Serge, gun, 200 odd games, in our TOTC, described by most as hard as a slab of concrete.
SOS, gun, played on the best forwards the game has ever seen and beat the lot of them. And if the opposition didnt have a FF or CHF worthy of him, he'd play forward himself and kick a bag.

Theres no questioning Jacks pedigree.
