Its hard to take and watch ...

When we bring the ball back in from an oppisition behind.

We are extremly slow and miss targets repeatedly

I watch other teams bring the ball back in quickly and watch it go over our heads and they beat us on the rebound. Why cant and why don't we do it ?

I cringe everytime we have the ball in our own defensive 50.

Amen to that Big Ted! It's been a nightmare! How can Dal be so terrific at pretty much everything else (how beautiful was that running goal in the Freo game!?), but he cannot for the life of him do a decent kickout - holds on forever, then kicks to the guy (sometimes) 15 metres to the wing. It's just agonising to watch. The frustrating thing is that so much of our game-plan is about bursting out of defense.

Arh yes, that 15m chip pass to the forward pocket, where we hold it up again .. Grrrrrrrrrr, why oh why.

Other teams have the ball back outside the 50m before the goal umpire had finished waving his single flag. Why dont we ?

I think its intentional. We dont seem to be in any rush.

The most frustrating thing is that we do it, even though Dal and Gram are the two players who most often do the kicking out! Dal, who could land the ball on the tip of a needle from 35m away, and Gram, who banged a torp straight down Roo's guts in the Doggies game. It's not rocket science boys, and it's not poetry either, so you should be able think this through - in the kickout, either kick accurately, or kick long down the middle.

The problem is/was in the Freo game that we dont have alot of "tall men". With Kosi out and most of the tall men in the forward line it would be silly to bomb it long to a contest as we would be out marked and they could be lining up for goal. I see why Ross Lyon had to implement that kicking out technique and try to chip kick it, then hopefully Gram, Dal santo or S. Fisher to run it out of the 50. We may have to implement the same style this week against a very good WCE side. Kosi IN will help un-beliveably to our chances of winning
