Out - Matera :( Gaspar :( Humm

In - Doogs, Wooden, Morrison

Munro should get a reprieve (sp?) now that Matera is out. Need another small forward. Hunter is borderline and perhaps he should also be dropped so that Whoosha can stick to words and actually reward stellar WAFL form.

If Doogs comes in then Wilson must come in as well. Doogs has nowhere near the body required to play in the forward line and would be outmuscled way too easily. Having Wilson there might help him out though

Out: Phil Matera, Travis Gaspar, Kane Munro, Darren Glass, Adam Hunter (Jeremy Humm)
In: Troy Wilson, Andrew McDougall/Ashley Hansen, Michael Collica, Damien Adkins, Trent Carroll (Chad Morrison/Phil Read)

Anyone know if Jon Brown is playing?? If he is god knows how we're going to muscle up the strength to counter both he and Alistair Lynch :(

We're really going to have to dig deep in this one.

What about Callum Chambers?? How close is he to getting a spot??

He had a top year last year, and this year he has just been completely forgotten

Collica doesn't really deserve a recall, hasn't been setting the WAFL on fire.

Same deal with Chambers, theres about 4 other WAFL midfielders ahead of him at this stage.

Out - Matera Gaspar Humm Munro

In Cox Morrisson Wooden Chambers

keep the system small as we have had success with it.

Sampi to the pocket, Morrisson to half forward, keep Jako at CHF with the option of Gardy when Cox is rucking, Wooden to defence and Chambers off the bench to play wing.

Only other thought is to put Carroll on the bench as defensive insurance.

Out:
Matera - definitely
Gasper - definitely
munro - probably
humm - probably

In:
Morrison - played well in the WAFL and has been a regular part of the team.
Carroll - he has been a regular part of the team.
Adkins - been playing well the WAFL for a couple of weeks.
Wooden - been playing well the WAFL for a couple of weeks.

and we may go for a tall forward out of Wilson, Lynch, McDougal, Seaby or Hanson at somebodies expense.

What it comes down to will be the number of changes that the team wishes to make. Don’t forget we are playing Brisbane at the GABBA and it doesn't get any harder.

Carroll hasn't been playing too badly, dare I say it.......

He's been reasonable, at least better than Glass, but he has put in some shockers. But you'd expect that from Carroll, because he is not the most talented player to have ever graced the planet.

He needs to desperately get on the weights in my opinion, and as I've said before given some sought of chance at CHF, because he's got a good kick on him, he just doesn't know what to do, so maybe if there is only one thing for him to do he'll do it....who knows.

yeah i would agree with that. i guess we'll see if the match committee has finally lost patience with carroll. i thought that he might be the unlucky one to go / not get included if one of the other 5 were to get a game.

How many goals did Bowden kick? How many possessions did he gather? But hey, instead lets only remember the two mistakes Glass made when going forward. God forbid he should be given some time to gain confidence at this level.

Black Thunder, the day I see Carroll at CHF will be the same day I declare the Eagles to be at rock bottom. He barely has enough smarts to play down back, let alone at CHF.

Glass is a good negator, no doubt. It's just the rest of his game needs about 3-4 years of hard work. It would be interesting to compare our winning % with Glass in the side compared to when he is out of it. I dare say it would be a fair bit higher when he isn't playing. Sometimes there are no explanations for things like this, we just play worse with Glass in the side. In any event, he is solely a fullback and if Milli is playing then there is little point in having another fullback in the side.

I don't think Win% with player X or player Y in the side mean much, as there are too many other variables. In the case of player like Glass who up until now usually only got games through injuries to Milli etc. it's bound to be lower.

Glass is definately a poor decision maker when it comes to ball distribution, but I agree he is a good negator and should be valuable for that part of his game alone. We don't gain anything by having him run off his opponent and trying to kick goals, so Woosha should tell him not to. As long as he keeps within spitting distance of his opponent all game he is good value for us.

The point I am trying to make is that general play is set up out of defence and that a club's ability to run out of defence is critical in AFL footy. Neither Glass nor Milli do this adequately atm and having them both in defence is detrimental to our game plan. If the plan was to bomb it 60 meters to a marking CHF it wouldnt be a problem but our gameplan requires that we outrun our opponents. When we were playing well earlier in the year we had alot of run out of the backline. Fremantles rise this season is also in no small part due to the run provided by Woods and Hayden out of the backline. I am not targeting Glass specifically. I think Fremantle play better without Parker in the side for a similar reason. Clubs need running rebounder types in defence.

I dont know if he'd make a good CHF, but I know he'd make a better CHF than CHB or FB.

Brown and Bradshaw are both out as well as Michael Voss, Beau McDonald and Tim Notting . Shaun Hart, Mal Michael, Chris Scott and Blake Caracella face fitness tests. Not sure if Keating is out or facing a fitness test!

=8^S

if we were playing @ subi im sure we'd struggle
