Nope, there's nothing dirty, stinky and rotten in Melbourne. Just endless streams of traffic & pollution, causing congestion everywhere in the city, etc.

WHAT THE F%#$ ????? dont know what planet you r on. i have never seen a syringe at a beach in melbourne, or sewerage for that matter, and compared to melbourne, adelaide is a hole. and before you get on your high horse. i live in adelaide and have for the last 20 years of my life. (i turn 20 in august) and i hate living here. i have been trying to move to melbourne for the last four years to no avail (next year i will be there). You have to travel foreva to get somewhere, the public transport is rubbish, the people r rude and arrogant. there is NO LIFE over here. pft this city needs a MAJOR over haul. maybe the collingwood people will do that tonite. hehe

ok well i have spent the last 4 summers rooming the beaches of melbourne, and have never had problems. i have also found 3 syringes at glenelg beach (near the surf club) so it aint perfect. i have no problems that its your opnion. im just stating mine, in relation to yours. i wasnt having a go at ya.

Totally different cities, beaches, places, traffic, transport etc. Bluecrow just remember that diving off pier say at Port Norlunga may result in being chomped by a great white shark. Why would you want to swim in Port Phillip Bay anyway when great beaches at Rye, Portsea, Point Leo, Woolamai, Smith's etc etc etc.

Bluecrow, best beach I know of is out the back of Goolwa. Sensational.

Adelaide is a sensational and beautiful city. Melbourne is the place to be though for sport.

South Australia has one of the best beaches in austrlaia if not the world. A place called Tunkalilla. The surf is awesome. It looks like A exotic beach. Its hard to get there, you have to walk a fair bit but its bloody worth it.

Youve got to be kidding right. Of course Melbourne is bloody bigger, they have three times the population of Adelaide. Rude and Arrogant people?? Youd think youd find them everywhere wouldnt you. I used to live in melbourne and have been back a number of times since then, and all i can say is that i cant stand it. Sure the nightlife is better, if tahts all you care about.
You say you have to travel ages to get somewhere?? Where do you live?? bloody salisbury or hallet cove or something!?!?! I live at Henley Beach and its about 10 minutes from all the major spots in adelaide...glenelg, marion, west lakes, town, port adelaide. 20 minutes at the most to Port adelaide...about 15 minutes to marion. Public Transport is fine, wherever you go you wnt find a perfect public transport system. Adelaide is the smallest city...what do you expect, freakin fireworks every bloody night. The nightlife is fine in Adelaide if you know where to go.
