EARLY SPARROW BEATS UP ON CATERPILLARS

The Geelong West sparrows have started the inaugural OFGFL season off with a bang, defeating the Cape York Caterpillars and seasoned coach Karnezis_13. Sparrows coach Jordie_tackles praised his chargers for the effort they displayed in the first up clash of this season, singling out Captain and First ever pick in the OFGFL draft Gary Ablett Jnr.

Jordie_tackles continued further when questioned, suggesting that it was also David Mundy and Michael Barlow who set the game up for the Sparrows during the first quarter, before the Captain pushed the margin out in the second half. Dont be fooled though, we didnt have this game all our own way, a number of players played below what is expected from seasoned OFGFL players and we will discuss this during the week and during our recovery.

Jordie_tackles was quoted saying "this is a long season and at the moment we are just looking to next week and we will see if we can produce a similar effort and similar result". We will take a moment and enjoy the win, but we will refocus the attention to next week in the morning, train hard, improve and back it up next week.
