What a great name for a web address, I wonder who came up with that? (Runs and hides in shame if anyone mentioned it before me)

www.afc.com.au isn’t that bad, Matt Robran writes some good stuff and any groundbreaking news will be on AA or SEN 1324 or the news services. I like the idea of an unofficial web site because it will give the fans ownership and to get away from the really patronizing propaganda party line stuff they try and dish up at times.

PS Suggest you have a look at the "demonblog.com" site (under the Melbourne board in BigFooty). I've only had a brief look but I like its crisp, clear layout.

May not be a actual Site to start off with, the fact that me and Capitalist havent got much experience with HTML and PHP coding doesn't help us. It will most likely eventually be a site, but most likely to start with it will be a forum. Nothing is official yet and we will think this through carefully and try to start this the best way possible.

Also, make sure congrats goes to Capitalist.. he is the one in which paid for it. I will eventually help out with the cash side of things, just got none at the moment lol

Anybody with who is good with PHP coding and wouldn't mind helping us out with getting something made for us... would be more than welcome to contact me or Capitalist through PM.

ok i know this is a really crappy time but does anyone know someone willing to setup this site for me - i have looked at it for hours and I have no idea how to set this up (wow I am really feeling old when i can't even use manuals)

trying to get the site going php enabled but I really am lost at sea - have a host a name but just get anything running ! so if you know anyone who has a spare few hours and is willing to set it up and then let me tinker with it please let me know !!!

P.S they can claim all the credit they want (even put it in there resume if it makes them happy - also preferably a crows fan !!)

Sounds like you want a portal type thing going along the lines of Xoops or PHP Nuke - both of them are free downloads and include a phpbb type forum embedded in them

Presumably your host supports PHP and mySQL? If you are not sure you need to find out

I'm not a big tech-head type, but I have set up similar sites in the past, so I can probably help with any questions you have

I like the stadium info idea and am willing to provide what I can in regards to Subiaco..also on the same theme you can have a travel guide..recommended hotels etc and visiting spots..maybe get advertising from interested companies.

I was thinking of a rumour board but that can degenerate into spite, what about a photo section with pictures of meeting the players...see who can come up with the most exotic location for a picture of a Crows player and yourself.

I wanted to set up a news site for international footy. We ended up using Geeklog software (www.geeklog.net). It allows users to view news, or create accounts to submit stories, which a moderator can control. Personally I didn't install the software, but once it's in it isn't too hard to maintain.

The big problem is content and juggling staff. I've put in probably 6 hrs a day 5 or 6 days a week, all in what used to be called "leisure time" outside of my work. Been doing it for nearly a year. So you have to be pretty obsessive and committed to keep it going. I am because I know, to some extent, that Aussie Rules is relying on volunteers like myself to support its spread around the world, and without that spread, I think it would die eventually, but that's another story. Just warning that time coordinating writers, making contacts, researching stories, all adds up.

Submit your link to WFN when things are more advanced and you'll be in our links too - although admittedly after the first 2 weeks they move off the What's New and we've got a pretty big links section. Hey everyone, thought it may be important to give you all an update...

We are really close to opening up the new site, basically on the dawning of it.

A time hasn't been set between myself and Capitalist and we will certainly tell you in the stages leading up to it... could be tommorow... could be two weeks lol....

Seriously though, if anyone has any skills, content in which they are able to provide us for the site then do not hesitate to PM myself or Capitalist... also were still looking for someone to do a Preview of this weeks game against the Demons, can't garuntee it will be up as the site may not be... but once the site is revealed and accessable it will be there, i am just trying to get a bit of news sydicating through it so we don't have a bare site when all of you get there.

Anyway people it's beginning to take shape as a Crows supporters website and should be fun, great and exciting for all of us, my website skills are still at a novice stage and once it is opened me and Capitalist will do our best to fill everybodies needs...
