Indigenous Team of the Decade

I’d have Hamling over Jones and Williams over Stephen Hill then.

B: Neville Jetta ~ Steven May ~ Michael Johnson
HB: Leon Davis ~ Joel Hamling ~ Lewis Jetta

M: Brad Hill ~ Tim Kelly ~ Shane Edwards
R: Paddy Ryder ~ Shaun Burgoyne ~ Zac Williams

HF: Cyril Rioli ~ Lance Franklin ~ Charlie Cameron
F: Eddie Betts ~ Adam Goodes ~ Michael Walters

I/C: Jarrod Harbrow ~ Chad Wingard ~ Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti ~ Daniel Wells
Wingard is a dual All Australian who stood up in the big games for Port and was their best finals player in his time there.

His season goal tallies at Port: 43, 43, 53, 38, 24, 22 (while averaging just under 20 possessions per game)

That puts him ahead of Charlie Cameron and Zac Williams (as much as I like both those players)

He has had a couple of forgettable seasons. Prior to that, many people rated him as a better footballer than Cyril Rioli (probably the only indigenous forward I ever tolerated being compared to Cyril and didn’t argue about it)

Wingard is in the side...

Just a quick team I put together, let me know if I missed anyone. Included all the AAs.
Leon Davis had minimal input this decade.

Seems everyone has forgotten Jarman Impey
There are a fair few good players in his position he’d have to displace

With Walters, C.Rioli, Betts, C.Cameron and Wingard in the side, I think it would be reasonable to replace AMT with Impey on the bench purely due to Impey being versatile enough to be played in pretty much any position on the field other than key position/ruck.

AMT is a great small forward but he is behind the other 5 listed.

Pretty fair point. The forward line is very stacked for talent

As a Hawthorn man I thought you would champion Chance Bateman ahead of Jarman Impey ?

But AMT is behind those that’s why he’s on the bench as the rotation option. AMT also rotates through the middle and started his career as a defender.

Although I’d probably drop AMT for Andrew Walker for the extra marking ability
