Re: Gibbs where art thou?

Well Foley had like 18 possies in the first half then wasn't anywhere near as influential in the 2nd half.

I loved Foley's clearances at the start but towards the end of the game he wasn't starring anymore.

Besides you've got Murphy and he showed that he is currently twice the player Deledio is ATM. I hope Lids improves in the future but right now murphy is clearly the better player and on track to be a great mid.

Re: Gibbs where art thou?

Regarding deledio, he is a midfielder, that's where he grew up and that's where he best reads the play.

Put him back there and he'll shine. Get the ball to him and he will make things happen.

Umm, they did for a while......Banno wore him like a glove.;)

Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

enough said.

The guy is frustration personified - kicks to the wrong options, and doesn't do it very well.

You'd think AFL players would know their limitations at times - and give it off to someone else.

Not Andy I'm afraid.

Re: Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

He has moments where he looks like a champion and then moments where he looks 3rd rate.Very frustrating.Caused a a couple of goals last night IIRC

Re: Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

Have the same frustrations C4, and was a talking point last night. If I was Brett Ratten, I would seriously sit down with him and tell him that last night was nowhere near good enough. Over the course of the season, he needs to do session after session of disposal work, otherwise you can spend the rest of your career in the BP.

Not good enough Carrazzo. Not good enough at all.

2006 B+F- Whitnall
2007 B+F- Carrazzo.

Surely he couldnt be any worse than Whitnall of last year?
He reminds me of Jake King for us...tries his heart out but isnt one of the most polished players, but still a very handy player

Re: Gibbs where art thou?

I'm his biggest fan and yes I thought he was entitled to show alot more tonight. Dissapointing.

Actually, I would go close to being his biggest fan. Just ask Gilly. :)
I thought he was quiet tonight, but we can't expect him to get 25 touches each week, can we?

Re: Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

Clearly Carrazzo is an excellent runner and finds the ball well but can't kick. Surely this skill set lends itself to tagging. Yet last night Ratten allowed Carrazzo to run free whilst utilising one of the few elite kicks in our team, Gibbs, as a tagger!

No teams bother matching Carrots up because his kicking is shocking! He should be utilised as a lock down tagger, a role which plays to his strengths.

Also, whilst off topic, why is Gibbs being used in defensive roles? All through his junior career I thought he was the next Hird, a half forward flanker who could pinch hit in the middle, tall, good hands, excellent footy smarts, elite disposal. Instead he is being played in negativly roles where the only two flaws he has, pace and fitness, are exposed the most.

Re: Gibbs where art thou?

he was quiet tonight, but he still did some absolutely briliant things. He is a class above anyone out there. Don't forget he is only 18

Re: Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

we all know Carrazzo has ordinary skills, but surely the bigger issue is Nick Stevens decision making and skills under pressure. He monufukingmental stuff up in the last quarter where he could've either kicked a goal or centred the ball to a hard running Waite, but rather kicked it straight to the Richmonds defenders advantage was terrible. He also turned it over on 2 or 3 occassions where he had no Richmond player around him.

While he is coming back from a long term injury, as a senior player he has to be better than that.

You are spot on with Carrazzo not being manned up, why would you when half he stats he givesback to the opposition. You other point is good in that he should be used as run with player with the opposition in a similar mould of Kane Cornes or Ling.

His decision making and foot skills are disgraceful at times, hey but he can run!!!

I would like to see Houla play more through the midfield than Carrazzo as he only needs half of Carrazzo's touches to do at leats twice the damage.

Re: Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

It's widely acknowledged in footy circles after 1 year on Geelong's rookie list, Mark Thompson rang Pagan to look at this kid & give him a chance because Geelong didn't have room for him. Very interesting!

Re: Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

He ended up with 25 touches, proving again that he can easily get his hands on the ball but, it's that re-occuring issue with disposal that has played about with a handful of our boys. Push him forward, I guess, there's no point in taking him out of the squad, especially if we know that he can get his hands on the ball.

Re: Andrew Carrazzo - You're a crappy decision maker and an even worse kick

Go easy, I thought he was one of Richmonds best :thumbsu:
Because you can't win on your own, umpire ridding w***ers.
