Woot, now I wrote a thing to scrape the teams page. Now I can even just automatically scrape even the teamsheets in instead of copying them in like a chump. Also it just automatically generates these graphs for every match each round. I should really figure out something to do with the others.

Lol I wrote one earlier this season too...

...I use it for SC ins/outs.

The kids these days, they tweet don't they? They haven't started tooting at mastodons or something right?

So I guess this is a thing now.

I dropped off the Gini coefficients so as to avoid someone asking me to explain that. I haven't figured out a nice way of labelling them as yet
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm totally going to draw Deathly Hallows all over the Gini coefficients on the BigFooty-exclusive Gini-enabled graphs next week just for you.

Who is the Essendon player that has played 320 odd games? Goddard?

Yeah, I just looked it up. I didn’t realise he had played that many.
Thanks

One of those unremarkable footballers who hang in there and barely gets injured. Same draft as Brennan

Great thread but would be good to see how these numbers have reflected results over the years. We know age and experience has an impact on performance but how much does it actually dictate results? After all you can still have a team of 25 year old duds.

Felt a bit boring not having any graphs to post here this week so here's I think what we can all agree as being the game of the round:

And remember you can now follow along all the games on my Twitter.

There I am, lying all comfortable in bed pretending I don't have to go to work soon, and suddenly up pops a reminder that actually I didn't run the script last night, I spent it all rebinging Fargo because why not.

Wait!!!! Someone is averaging more 1% than Harris?

Also interesting to see we have a better spread of goal kickers across the whole team

Yeah, but he's got the advantage of only having to spread that average over two games instead of a larger body of work. And Harris has still got him on season average. Fair to say those numbers will have Sam Taylor in Leon's good books though.

We generally do have a fair spread of goalkickers - usually moreso than our opponents - which will be down to our relatively aggressive game style combined with a lack of dominant forwards.

Huh, we're up on experience and dead level on age. Obviously Hodge throws the averages right out, but, still, there ya go. The lines mostly run pretty close.
