SMFH, this is pathetic & sad.

That's a change. It's usually triggered leftists beating up people wearing MAGA hats. In this instance the Trumpers actually do deserve to have their arses kicked.

That Indigenous Peoples March however is some next level identity politics. BF's very own millennial snowflake, Heritier "the Prince" Lumumba is over there virtue signalling whilst pretending to be indigenous.:rainbow:

This is a tricky one.
Im in favour of expanding domestic violence legislation to include emotional abuse if it goes hand in hand with threats, agression and violence.
However you cant have the law referee the psychological battlefield that forms most relationships

Exactly. People say stuff in good relationships all the time. Of course I suspect that is not what they are talking about here. Sustained emotional abuse can be practiced by either party with mitigating circumstances such as this already used by courts. Evidence of said constant abuse is however another thing altogether.

For instance someone verbally putting you down constantly is emotional abuse. But unless you record or have a witness it’s difficult to proceed.

A few of my previous employers and people I've worked with would be in deep shit if a law like this ever came in. Women are often the worst culprits. I worked with a woman who was the manager of the customer service dept and she would summon her team of 4-5 other young women into the meeting room and verbally abuse the shit out of them 1-2 times a week on average. Her team would walk out of these meetings in tears more often than not. Most ended up quitting within a few weeks/months because they couldn't take the constant verbal abuse any more. How is that sort of continual verbal/emotional abuse different to that in a personal relationship?

Advocates are suggesting it would only be used in domestic violence incidents but you just know that millennials will claim emotional abuse against employers, work supervisors or anyone whose political or social views trigger their millenial sensibilities. 'No Platforming' is already a huge problem across university campuses and public event halls all over the US, Canada, UK and even here. A law such as this could potentially be used by feminists & SJW's to silence anyone who they claim to be emotionally triggered by.

I think it just comes down to having it as an additional charge that forms part of the whole.

For instance someone who robs a bank with a sawn off is never just charged with 'armed robbery'.
Its.
-Armed robbery
-Possession of a unlicensed firearm
-Illegal modification of a firearm
-Threats to kill
-False imprisonment
-Assult with a deadly weapon.
etc etc.
Ends up being 35 counts for what is essentially just one crime.

On a similar note if you point a gun at a bank teller and say 'just hurry up and give me my money' its a crime.
If however you're there as a customer and after arguing with them over excessive fees and you frustratedly say the same thing its not.

Context is all important

Read that article earlier this morning and was going to post it here, but the old errand paralysis kicked in and I had to curl up in a corner for a while to make the bad things go away.
I also called my mum.
I'll send you some virtual hugs, they always help.

Thanks bae. I'll be in my safe space for a while longer.
I hope you have your emotional support therapy rabbit close by.

Maybe have some rescue remedy just to be on the safe side.

My rescue remedy is watching encores of I'm a Celebrity for its intellectual value.
I'll be fine in time.
