Bit of drama at the Old Xavs practice match today with an U19 player receiving a neck injury. Play was stopped and the Helicopter Ambulance landed on the ground to take him to hospital. Anybody know of the poor blokes condition? There are a lot of people who were at the ground today thinking about him and his family and wishing him a speedy recovery.

On behalf of ER we hope the young player makes a speedy recovery.

Apparently he was ok when the chopper took off. Let's hope he's ok and that he had ambulance cover. Costs $100 a year. Well worth it.

He had numbness and loss of feeling in his right arm and was taken to Prince Alfred hospital.
Last night was conscious and regaining feeling, then was to go in for scans sometime overnight to ascertain the nature of the injury.
At this stage, seems like no serious permanent was sustained, but safe-to-say it looks as though his footy has come to an end.
Will re-post when i hear of scan results.

Cheers.

I hope the youngster is ok. I wish him all the best in his recovery. I hope all is ok.

Good news: he's had scans and they revealed no damage; the numbness was caused by a compression of his spine in the collision.
Has gone home to rest up and should be fine in 6 weeks, but wouldn't be suprised if he erred on the side of caution.

Cheers
