With how good Buckley looks coming back from his ACL I do have some faith that this is going to be handled well and he's going to come back looking good, think one of our head trainers played a key role and rehabbing one of the big NRL boys back from his knee injury.

We can only hope so!

(But I do agree, Buckley has come back really well.)

Early prognosis

The Giants will lose first-round pick Jones for the entire season after he ruptured his ACL over the weekend. O'Halloran should return this week, while veteran Phil Davis (ankle) made his comeback through the VFL last Saturday. Aleer and Perryman are expected to be back within the month. – Riley Beveridge

Bedford seems to be smashing his rehab? Don't remember what it said last week but definitely don't think it was 2 weeks, coming back from hamstrings is always going to be nervous and even more so with how far ahead of schedule he is but if he can get right he can be real impact guy for us.

It said 4-5 weeks for Bedford the week before. I guess credit to our medical staff in this instance. When he first got injured, I think it was stated that he would be out for about 3 months

Yeah think when he was first injured we were looking at a return about halfway through the year but now there's a chance he's playing next week, absolutely credit to our medical staff that's really impressive.

The Giants are hopeful that Perryman will return this weekend, softening the blow of losing Green to suspension. Expect both Aleer and Bedford to make their comebacks through the VFL. – Riley Beveridge

FMD

Scans on Sunday have revealed much-loved GIANT Adam Kennedy will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. Kennedy was knocked off the ball late in Saturday’s loss to the Lions and landed awkwardly, with scans revealing an ACL tear and Kennedy set to undergo a knee reconstruction. GIANTS General Manager of Football Jason McCartney said the club is devastated for the inaugural GIANT.

“It’s shattering news for Adam and the club but we’ll wrap our arms around ‘Kenners’ and give him all the support he needs,” McCartney said. “He’s a much loved member of our footy club and we know he’ll attack this setback with his trademark hard work and diligence.”

Scans have also revealed All Australian defender Sam Taylor will miss 10 weeks with a grade three hamstring strain. Taylor was subbed out of Saturday’s match after suffering the injury in the third quarter. “Unfortunately Sam will miss around 10 weeks with this hamstring injury,” McCartney said. “It’s frustrating for Sam, who has been in exceptional form, but we look forward to welcoming him back after our mid-season bye.”

Forward Daniel Lloyd, who was a late withdrawal from the round six match with a calf injury, will be a test ahead of the Sydney Derby at the SCG next Saturday.

Meanwhile in the VFL, defender Leek Aleer injured his ankle, which will sideline him for two weeks.

Wingman Cooper Hamilton will see a specialist after presenting last week with a small stress fracture in his navicular. The injury is non-surgical at this stage but will cause the second-year GIANT to miss a number of weeks.

I reckon he should pull the pin and finish up. He’s been a great servant to the club but I reckon his body is failing him and it’s time for that next batch to come through. I wouldn’t be surprised if by seasons end he calls it quits. Good player better person.
I think he’ll want a full rehab at the club. Might be spending some time with Darcy Jones.
Agree he likely has very few games left. If he does bow out it’s great he got to 150.

Ditto with Phil Davies. He has been a loyal and excellent player, but has had at least two injuries this year. When Phil decided to play on this year, he did state that he had worries whether his body could cope. Phil’s contract expires this year but Kennedy’s expires in 2024.

Where is Briggs?

no mention of him in the rehab report or the injury list - but for the last 2 weeks Derkson has been the sole ruck for the VFL with Riccardi as the chop-out.
