Finn back this week.
Toby might struggle get up.
Angove out for season with stress fractures in his back.
Well that absolute sucks!!

Poor kid, that’s a nasty injury to get as a teenager, let alone any time. A slow and steady recovery, hopefully this doesn’t impact him too much long term. Back injuries are concerning though.

Defender Sam Taylor is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks with scans confirming a fractured toe. The All-Australian defender reported soreness post-match and scans earlier this week confirmed the extent of the injury. Taylor will wear a moonboot for the next two weeks, before beginning to rebuild his training load.

Brent Daniels is set for another stint on the sidelines, with the small forward suffering an adductor tendon injury in Saturday’s win over the Lions. Daniels will undergo further assessment before a recovery timeline is confirmed.

Young defender Conor Stone has also been sent for a scan, following a foot injury suffered in VFL on the weekend.

Meanwhile, both Toby Greene and Jake Stringer could be in line to return this weekend provided they get through Friday’s main training.

Vice-captain Stephen Coniglio has made further progress in his recovery from a long-term glute injury and is expected to train fully this week. The 31-year-old is targeting a return following the club’s bye.

Cogs and Briggs back after bye. I wander whether Cogs is straight back in after a long lay off?
Daniels still a TBC with adductor.
Ough and Gothard back in vfl.
Stone out for season with navicular fracture.
In Kingers' pre-game presser he said two things about Cogs.
First that he'll definitely be ready post-bye and second that they'll consider giving him a run in the VFL first.
It must have been years since he played in the 2s.

Did he play 2s when he got dropped in that charmingly filmed incident with Leon?

Edit: actually that was during COVID, right? No reserves.

Probably never.
He played 1st in the WAFL at 16 and when they rested him in covid there was not reserves.

Cogs has played vfl before… I think it was a year or two ago… against Casey I believe… he was trying to come back from long injury layoff.

There’s different commentary about injuries at different clubs, including Essendons injury crisis. We are not far behind them. By my count we have 8 players out of our senior lineup.
If we were a big Melbourne club it would get more coverage, just like how we’ve been one of the youngest sides in recent weeks.
Yes. This happens most years when we have a significant injury toll ... which seems to be most years.

No acknowledgement of the outs, and getting hammered for losses without any reference to the missing players.

We generally are able to bring in highly rated kids so it doesn't look as bad from the outside.
