I think we have to start getting used to life without Ads, sadly.
You'd think he's done now. Incredibly sad for him, but thankfully he hasn't really played much a part in the team this year so far so we're doing ok without him. Will be sorely missed of course.

It’s sad for Adam but at least we have already played without him and prepared for life without him in the centre bounce.

It now becomes a matter of preparing him for a finals run. I agree with others than maybe the best course of action is to condition him for a super sub role.

I feel so bad for Ads.

He looked so dejected when he was sitting on the bench yesterday. He's such a top bloke who is very unfortunate not to be a premiership player.

I really hope we can get him a premiership and to be honest if I had to pick any player I'd like to see win the Norm Smith, he'd be my man. Fancy our two Norm Smith Medalists being the two players on our list with the most cruel history of soft tissue injuries.

And we carried an injured Treloar into the final last year. He was hobbling around and could barely move in the second half

Thanks for everything but I'm not willing to take that risk again
And this is the issue - even if he looks like he’s ready come September (a tough ask now) he could reinjure it at any point.

If the medical staff think he’s capable of getting it right over a preseason so he can play next year it’s worth a one year deal, but this year is looking shot for him.

The only chance he has is as sub but even that is a risk. Adam has been fantastic for us he is such a great person to have had our club. He has performed on field when injuries allowed it and mentored off it. This is obvious his last year hope he can get back and play a sub role in the finals but that is doubtful.

Adam Treloar, I salute you and thank you for eventually being a bulldog.

Calf injuries are the worst.

AFL career is over sadly.

Well said.

He'll play for Noble Park next year despite our attempts to get him down to Melton South to play with one of his best mates.

Love Ads but its time for the tap surely, JJ will be next if he gets another soft tissue injury.

Yeah i'm of the same opinion as others, love Treloar, fantastic bloke who has been huge for the club since he arrived and so happy he got his AA jacket last season. He has battled so hard this year to get back playing and I think it's four calves now in the last 8 months or so is rough and a very clear sign that his body is failing him to continue playing at this level unfortunately.

He absolutely has a very bright future in coaching or development etc whatever he wants to get into post playing career if he so chooses and has been a fantastic role model for our younger players. From a selfish football perspective, we now have enough midfield talent and depth to cover for him and trying to squeeze him back in was causing things like Libba to half back, Kennedy more forward and less Ed on ball where he is thriving.

Because he was visibly struggling to run.
Short strides, definitely not his usual acceleration.
1Q especially he looks like either;
  • He didn't trust his body, or
  • His body wouldn't allow it.

(When I say body, I mean calf obviously).

Edit: Sorry, "awful" was a poor choice of words.

The irony in this is had Treloar stayed at GWS, he might have been the difference in the 2016 Prelim. Replace him with Palmer and the result may very well have been different. No doubt they would have beaten Sydney in the Grand Final and the Swans supporters would have been crying foul at the umpires for gifting GWS the flag instead of us.

Great for us, not so good for him.
