Below is an update on Matthew Bode. Unfortunately it is not good news:
Adelaide forward Matthew Bode will be out of football for three months after having knee surgery last night. Bode, who has been troubled by the knee for nearly five weeks, was found to have a stress fracture at the lower end of the left kneecap. The operation removed a fragment of the patella. Adelaide’s Dr Andrew Potter said the injury was “very rare” and had been revealed through the latest round of ultrasound and X-rays. “The initial scans didn’t show the stress fracture but he has been rested from running for the past four weeks and that has turned out to be the appropriate treatment for the injury,” Dr Potter said. “Now that we have a correct diagnosis, the operation is the best treatment.”
