Below is an update on Matthew Bode. Unfortunately it is not good news:

Adelaide forward Matthew Bode will be out of football for three months after having knee surgery last night. Bode, who has been troubled by the knee for nearly five weeks, was found to have a stress fracture at the lower end of the left kneecap. The operation removed a fragment of the patella. Adelaide’s Dr Andrew Potter said the injury was “very rare” and had been revealed through the latest round of ultrasound and X-rays. “The initial scans didn’t show the stress fracture but he has been rested from running for the past four weeks and that has turned out to be the appropriate treatment for the injury,” Dr Potter said. “Now that we have a correct diagnosis, the operation is the best treatment.”

That's such bad news for Bodey :(

But all the best for his recovery. Get well Bodey - we miss you.

Terrible news! Bode has become so important to our side, and 3 months will take us just about to finals. It's a long time to go without our best small forward! I hope this doesn't jeopardize his chances of getting a new contract. He's earned his spot in our first 22... and our hearts. :(

*Sigh* I hate to say it, but I told you so. Three months...that's 12 games? If we're very lucky we'll have him back for the finals....at a stretch. Guess we have no choice but to persist with one of the kids now.

At least we have a club that's good enough to keep us informed hey......;)

All the best for your recovery Bodey........we desperately need his skills in our fwd line. Although others are filling the role - Bodey's a natural crumber.

I take it you aren't concerned about how long Bode will be out for? Is that affirmative captain?

yes i am concerned. I also believe that the AFC would be doing all in it's power to make Bode better! This i am concerned crap implies that you think the AFC is giving him improper medical treatment which is a complete load of crap.

You've obviously taken criticism that you're too positive to heart and now are trying to outdo yourself by being too negative! You're not coming off as a good poster but you're coming off as a tool!:thumbsd:

Bugger! :(

I am shattered as I am a big Bodster fan. He has been missed out there on the field and he will continue to be missed. Easily our best crumber and his defensive work in the forward 50 is as good as anyone else's in the AFL.

Here is to a quick and successful recovery :thumbsu:

Its good though that they have finally diagnosed the problem. Could have forced a return and who knows what could have happened. He will be missed... but he will be back!

Would it be possible to get an update on David Mackay whose injury does not seem to be improving. He’s now missed 7 weeks with a hamstring injury, and yet he’s been listed as 1-2 weeks for over a month now. What exactly is going on; is he due back any time soon or is there no clear return date?
