Playing footy a few years ago I broke all the bones in my right wrist. I mean all of them.
I now have 3 plates, 4 or so pins and 6 or 7 screws holding it al together.

Oh my god, I have an anatomy major and a fetish for cool injuries, what I wouldn't do to see that x-ray! Any chance you still have it lying around?!?

Meanwhile, I have never broken a bone, I kind of wish I had...just because. Closest I've come is "pre"-stress fractures in my foot

Did a grade 2/3 sprain on my ankle playing netball (the ultimate sport for ankles). It sort of went side to side and then popped and then I fell over :p And then I kept playing, which was very stupid.

My knee bothered me a lot playing footy last year, mainly because of my feet rolling in. Fixed up with authotics now so thats all good.

Broke my nose keeping for my cricket side last summer. It was the 2nd ball of the day & game (probably still half asleep :p) and the ball bounced up a heap, caught me suprise and I coped it in the nose.

Blood everywhere, went to hospital to get it looked at, they cleaned it up, sent me home and told me to come back 3 days later (as my nose was so swollen it was hard to see anything).

In the end just went to my GP who got me an X-Ray, showing a little fracture in the top of my nose (feel the top of your nose - thats the bone). I've just left it since then, has come out a bit crooked though so I'm waiting until all the swelling goes down (2 and a half months and it's not completely gone) to make a judgement on whether I want anything done to it.

Stacked it while doing a manual on my BMX, and the handle went right into my leg and had to get 12 stitches.

Yeah I've got them all still.
I was asked to keep them at the hospital but I said I was going to show my local GP and never took them back.

It still gives me a lot of problems. When I do a push up I have to do it on my knuckles because my wrist cant support the weight.

About 4 years ago I had a tree branch fall on me. I suffered a compound tibia and fibula fracture in my lower left leg and fractured L3 and L5 and had a burst fracture of L4 in my spine.

The back fractures healed pretty quickly but my leg was a mess for ages. I had to have an Ilizarov frame on it for 2 and a half years and I had a bone infection for the majority of that time. Probably had in excess of 30 operations to sort the whole thing out. Absolute nightmare.

All good now though. Left leg is a little shorter than the right but on the whole I cant complain.

An Ilizarov frame for 2 and a half years, bloody hell! Well done on not losing your mind :thumbsu:

How is your movement/strength there now? Can you play sport or anything?

I have broken so many bones it isn't funny.

First when I was 11, broke my foot at gymnastics on the springboard.
Next broken wrist after coming off my skatebaord.
6 months later broke my other wrist when I fell off a Clydesdale I was riding bareback & it bolted.
Broke my arm when I got thrown off a brumby & it stomped on it.
Ankle playing softball at school.
Broke my wrist ice skating.
Broke my leg high jumping.
When I was a teen I was a passenger in a Combi Van, that rolled four times after being hit side on, broke my left leg in two places & my right wrist.
When I was 20, got run off the road & hit a lamp post, broke my left kneecap & my right wrist.
In Perth, got rear ended, broke my right wrist yet & my left kneecap again.
Rear ended again in Perth, only broke my wrist this time.

I think that's it, broken fingers & toes a bit, but they don't compare to the big bones.

Just a warning to people, if you are about to be rear ended, take your hands off the steering wheel, don't grip it bracing for the impact, or you'll break your wrist.

Geez thats some bad luck right there

Had a lot of muscle wastage in my left thigh. Have worked my butt off to get strength back into it but it is still a work in progress. I also lost some calf muscle when they tried a muscle flap that failed so this hasn't helped either. Movement in the ankle is restricted but not too bad.

Played my first game of cricket since the accident in March. Can only 'run' over very short distances. Doing a heap of swimming and recently got back into surfing so that could be the extent of sport from here on in.

Wouldn't wish an Ilizarov frame on my worst enemy. I had no choice at the length of time it was on once the infection took hold. The other options didn't bare thinking about.

Broke my wrist falling out of a tree & the bone was pointing out, broken in 3 places, then I had it in plaster up to the top of my arm because it was such a bad break for 8 weeks.

It gets better, when I got the plaster off my bone had set in the wrong position & had to go back into hospital & have it re broken that day, so I ended up having it in plaster for 4 months & it was the whole of summer.

Another time I got into a fight when I was 16 (I didn't start it), went to punch the guy in the face, got him on the jaw but my finger hit his tooth & cut my finger open needing a few stitches. In the same fight I broke my thumb, was a bad break so had plaster up to my elbow.

Playing a few games of indoor soccer in a 2 month period I doslocated my wrist, tore my quad, had someone stand on my ankle & fold it sideways tearing all the ligaments in it, then when I fell over in pain landed badly & cracked a rib.

Also had stitches in a few places.

When I was little I was in Little Athletics and ended up tearing my quad muscle.

Hense the reason why I am goal umpiring footy......

All this HoF match advertising with Browny has reminded me of something that happened about 10 years ago when Jono and my brother went to school together.

They had gone to the pool as an end of year activity/treat and Jono had dived off the 3m diving board, and had disappeared under water (trying to touch the bottom of the pool). My brother was next in line and dived in head first and collided with Browny's skull as he was coming back up to the surface. My brother's tooth went right through his bottom lip and cut a fair chunk out of Browny's thick head as well. It filled the pool with a nice amount of blood and needed plenty of stitches.

I don't really recall much of this and at the time Jono was just a big dumb kid, but it's still a good story.

* dislocated my shoulder in rugby
* fractured/ sprained all my fingers from basketball, cricket and footy
*broken/sprained both ankles from losing my footing going down the stairs as well as basketball
*had the skin of my left arm literally ripped off after being dragged by my old mans car while having half of my body in the car
*fractured both wrists from tripping over wires
*had numerous cuts to the legs and arms from skateboards, bikes with no brakes, etc
*tore my hamstring while asleep (i dont know how the ____ i did that)
*strained knee muscles and joints from a variety of sports
*groin injury from soccer 2 years back flares up now and then
*been smacked in the nuts by bike bars, cricket balls and the odd kick.
*nearly cut off my toe from a lawnmower while it was off the blade skinned off my toe nail and fractured it.

I haven't had that many injuries in my lifetime.
Though when i was young i was playing soccer upstairs near the railing of the stairs, and the ball went near it and i kicked it and my toe hit the corner of one of the legs, which split my small toe. Didn't need stiches though it was just glued to the toe next to it. That didn't take long to heal about a week.
A few months ago when it was cricket season i had pain in my left knee. Wasn't able to bend my leg nor run or walk properly. Did some physiotherapy and 6 weeks later I was good again. Then i think a week later i must have strained my lower back and it didn't see to be recovering as fast as I wanted it to, though it didn't stop me from playing it did limit the amount of bowling I did. Had the injury for about 3 months which was very frustrating but finally got over it.
Then a month ago i got another knee injury by playing some basketball. Though not as bad as the one i had earlier, it's still irratating and i still have it.

Broke my big toe about 8 weeks ago kicking someone elses leg instead of the ball playing soccer on the beach. Had no shoes on or anything and it was a undisplaced spiral fracture. It still hurts to do pretty much everything.

is there any part of yar body that hasn't been injured yet ??

UPDATE

Just broke my 5th metacarpall, though my knckle moved when i broke it and got lodged against my ringfinger. had surgery yesterday to put a wire in my hand to seperate the bones.

Until recently, I've been fairly lucky.

A dislocated finger which cained.

A couple of bouts of concussion, which are quite weird.

And as of of today a month ago - a broken elbow. And trust me, the pain in those first 12 hours was unbrettleevable. Insane. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.
