As hard as this season will be for you guys with no tall defenders or forwards, it could potentially pay off big time on draft day. It's pretty well accepted that you have the core of a good side, but probably lack one or two elite midfielders to take the next step. If your ridiculous injury run results in a top 6 or 7 or so pick, you're pretty well nailed on to get an elite midfielder with that pick.

Alternatively, you could use the pick to trade for an established one.

That, combined with some smart moves in the free agency could see you bounce up incredibly quickly. Midfielders are a dime a dozen. The spots that are hard to fill, you're already well stocked in.
looks like we may have found some elite midfielders sooner than expected

It just shows how good the likes of Shuey, Gaff etc can be when they are organised and working hard, which is exactly what I was arguing.

Imagine adding an elite midfielder to that unit to take the tag and rack up 30 good possessions every week. Apart from Priddis, who has plenty of time left in the game, all your mids are young and developing. Add a genuine elite mid or two to that and all of a sudden you're a contender.

Ellis' one week hammy has turned into an LTI.

Not looking great for another extension if he gets another injury this year.

I don't rate him, terrible decision making.
Bit soft as well.
Soft? I think one of his problem is he puts his fragile body on the line when he should think twice. Maybe thats where his terrible decision making is where he doesnt know when not to go. He is not a soft player at all
