Waterman off the injury list or has he just been excluded once again?

Never been on it officially.

Haven't seen the accompanying story yet, hopefully it mentions his return to training.

Well he is back in training, but they also don't include him on the Eagles injury list being a rookie so who knows.

We will always have injuries and no club will ever be completely transparent. That's the nature of the game.

What always worries me however is the treatment of our longer term injuries. The more serious injuries. We don't seem to do very well.

Like it or not Perth is a regional city, and I notice that whenever a high profile player like Fyfe requires surgery to head head straight to Melbourne. Closer to home I have a young relative who required relatively minor hip surgury and they were even referred straight to a melbourne specialist and follow up physio

I really have to wonder what's up with perth surgeons in general. I am sure it is a closed shop but is there any data about. I wonder if the Eagles and dockers should investigate a combined approach just like a charter flight for East Coast games to support rehab. Perhaps a medical transport system is required so players don't end up like Selwood etc?

We can not afford to start injury management on players like Nic without the very best advice and I don't think its your side of the rabbit proof fence.

we have the money we should use it.
Some good points. It's pretty frustrating considering we're one of the more well off clubs but I think Collingwood are in a similar boat at times. Loads of cash but suss injuries.
The game does things to the human body that it's just not designed to absorb.

absolutely all the more reason to get the best advice and treatment for our players - the point is thats what offered for Fyfe because of his value -we should have a better arrangement in place for all of our players asa matter of routine. The WA system is not up to it.

As at August 9, 2016

Butler (groin) test
McInnes (hamstring) test
Mutimer (hamstring) 1 week
Duggan (calf) 1 week
Ellis (calf) season
Lucas (knee) season

McGinnity (finger) and Wellingham (ankle) mentioned in the article but apparently don't even need tests.

Rookie listed player

They don't exist for injury report purposes for whatever reason

Ah yes, forgot he was rookied. There was a faint glimmer of hope that he may be over his glandular fever and they took him off the injury list, but alas, it was the extra 30 seconds of work that the WC media liaison may have had to do that was keeping him off.

Brophy's season over, needs shoulder surgery.

Lycett listed as "test", as is Allen. Colledge expected to return for the Peel game.

Nothing else in the way of injury news.
Nic Nat a chance yeah?
