Injury Injury thread 2017

Naitanui's immediate future is not threatened but the problem for the hulking big enforcer is likely to be continued degeneration in the knee as his career extends, especially for such a heavy body and his explosive high leap in ruck contests.

The 27-year-old is on course for a playing return early next year after missing the entire 2017 season in his recovery from a dreaded ruptured cruciate ligament suffered in last year's stirring home win over Hawthorn just ahead of the finals.

So his "immediate future is not threatened" and he's "on course for a playing return early next year" and the rest is Haggers dribble?

What the * did I just read? :drunk:

I just get this feeling that somebody from within the Club has upset Haggers at some stage for anything he ever reports on re the Eagles is always negative.

IIRC he used to write for the Eagle Eye magazine. Must've got fired and hasn't let go since.

Hagdorn is Hagdorn, but west coast are equally full of s**t about this stuff.

Will reserve judgment till feb but if by then there is any talk out of the club about NN being slowly worked up to match fitness, not having a proper preseason, or being a 'a good chance for rd 1', then panic. If he is not fully fit and ready to play 18 months after doing his knee, then the future is pretty grim.

Continued instability in the affected knee joint will increase the force applied to the articular cartilage due to altered knee biomechanics which will likely increase degenerative change. A further injury to something like the menisci would accelerate the degeneration.

Long story short, he needs to manage himself carefully throughout the rest of his career but that's no secret and Hackdorn gonna hack.

Confessing? He had an arthroscope, players get these all the time so it's not a big deal. The club probably thought it wasn't worth reporting (which it isn't) until Hackdorn decided to make s**t up.

Confessing wrong word at least the Eagles have said NicNat will need to be managed similar to Sam Butler was in his career .

NicNat post footy really needs to look after himself if at all possible .

Pfffft "post footy"!

NicNat needs to worry more about my entertainment than 50 years of nagging pain.

That's right folks.
Butler was so good he was managed into being a premiership champion, life member GOAT.
