July 4, 2017 (expected return to play)

Kennedy (calf) test (1 week)
LeCras (hip) test (1 week)
Wellingham (hip) test (new)
Hurn (concussion/hamstring) test (1 week)
Schofield (glute) test (new)
Nelson (hamstring) test (1-2 weeks)
Venables (toe) 1-2 weeks (No change)
Tunbridge* (knee) 1-2 weeks (2 weeks)
Rioli (hamstring) 1-2 weeks (2 weeks)
Waterman (foot) 1-2 weeks (2 weeks)
Bayok* (hamstring) 1-2 weeks (2-3 weeks)
Butler (hamstring) 3-4 weeks (new)
Naitanui (knee) Late 2017 season
Allen (foot) Season

Apart from Venables all the existing injuries have moved forward (as well as no change to Naitanui and Allen as you'd expect)

Butler is new. As is Wellingham and Schofield

Interesting that Priddis and Hill who both missed last week aren't listed even as a test

Venables third straight week as "1-2 weeks". If he displays anything like that sort of ability to make time stand still when he's got the ball in his hand then we've drafted one hell of a player.

The article says Priddis and Hill have recovered from "soreness" and "illness" respectively.

No mention of Snadden's reported concussion of course.

In a perfect world everyone except Butler, Naitanui and Allen will be fit to play at some level for derby week (Round 17 WCE v Dockers and EP v Peel)

That is predicated on no new injuries this weekend (optimistic) and all of the five players listed as 1-2 weeks getting up (very optimistic)

Anything new on NN?

"we will make a decision after the bye" hasn't really gone anywhere. And I understand he is now in the US for a rehab stint.

It's gotta be very unlikely, yes?

Simmo held a press conference yesterday where he made a passing comment about NN that none of the media really latched onto. Sounded to me like he's not expecting him to play this season.

Yeah I heard that. Was when he was asking a question about Petrie. Said something like we knew Nic would be out for most of this year or all of it which is likely

Surprised the media hadn't picked up on it

Butler out for 3-4 weeks is concerning for our chances over the next few rounds

Clubs keeps on saying JK has not had any setbacks and that he's not far away for weeks now since Hackdorn's story came out, yet he's still not ready... Seems a bit suss, surely something's not quite right.
At least the club is consistent with their injury shenanigans

I'm at the point where I don't believe a word of it anymore.

Why are they like this? Infuriating

Calf injuries are very hard to get on top of (speaking from experience) - doesn't have to be anything sinister - as you don't want to bring him in for him to break down again. Kennedy is too valuable a player to bring him back in too early. You can think you're okay to play but so easy to break down again. The Club are probably being over-cautious for this reason. Perhaps they should give him a run for EP first before exposing him again to the increased tempo of AFL?

Simmo mentioned they are going to do a simulation game this weekend becasue there is a WAFL bye and there will be quite for players available so maybe they want to have JK getting some minutes that way?

East Perth reserves set to regain, presumably, all of:

Venables
Tunbridge
Rioli
Waterman
Bayok

next week.

Tunbridge* (knee) 1 week
Rioli (hamstring) 1 week
Butler (hamstring) 2 weeks
Mackenzie (hamstring) 2-3 weeks
Venables (toe) 2-3 weeks
Naitanui (knee) Late 2017 season
Allen (foot) Season

Well there goes Venables season! I knew when it was Turf toe he would be out for at least 8 weeks. Mckenzie with a hammie is new.
