Watching the Casey-Coburg game with my Melbourne supporting father with Mohr & Newton rucking. Any idea what is wrong with Spencer?

He isn't playing for Casey or Casey reserves this week.

He injured his foot at a Thursday night training a few weeks back, not sure how serious it is/was but it could be a reason...

Hey guys

Just wondering what happened to simon buckley. He is no longer on the injury list, but I read the thread from the casey v coburg game and there was no mention of him. Did he play seniors? I noticed he played half a game last week.

Is his groin issue more serious than first thought? Groin injuries are nasty. Chris masten has lost so much polish and pace since having his op. Takes a while to get back to your best even from a niggling groin.

Buckley was playing Casey reserves this week, hopefully if he's able too he can move up to the seniors and then have a crack at forcing his way back into the Melbourne team.

How'd he go in the reserves? That would appear as though he is a while away..

And of course Greeny still on the list... it's getting ridiculous IMO. I mean, this is what - 3 players injured in 5 days?

That's 11 now, if you include Spencer. Going down like ninepins at this point! Surely our guys aren't just naturally injury-prone to such an enormous degree? Although not all these injuries would fall into the same category (some certainly not), it definitely sounds to me like some kind of underlying issue needs to be addressed in the programme, because even with the amount of stresses on the average AFL player now, these kinds of numbers just aren't normal.

Either that or we need an extra 20 players in our squad...

Don't even want to think about any more possible injuries... bit too much like tempting fate at this point!

Guess the next injury.

I'm guessing PJ will go down with a severe case of rabies.

Rhys Healey hit by falling parts of a Russian satellite. Lock it in.

Come to think of it, I don't reckon the original comparisons do this all justice. This shit's starting to sound like the kind of thing that happens to Kenny in South Park every week!

I think Merc was on the same track there... yeah, what's next, Cheney getting decapitated mid-match?

I think Rivers has broken his tibia. If you look at the match-day pictures on the AFL website, picture #33 is the moment Rivers did his injury, if you look at his right leg there's something out the side of his shin/calf, & it looks like the bone has broken halfway down.

I'm not a doctor or anything, so don't go nuts if I'm wrong, it may just be the muscle.

EDIT: I mean left leg.

I think you may be arousing unnecessary panic, of course I'm willing to accept a second opinion.
And you should be looking at the left leg I believe.

Melbourne have said it's an ankle sprain, so disregard what I originally thought. But when I saw that photo, & not being a doctor or anything I was a little worried.

Plus Frawley's injury is meant to be a groin sprain, & apparently that's not as bad as an abductor injury, so he won't be out forever.

How is Buckley and Spencer travelling?

Any update on their injuries?

Did they play for Casey on the weekend? If so, how'd they go?

Anyone know exactly how many weeks Chip Frawley is out for?

IMO this years BIG improver, has the ear marks of an AA backman.
