I actually asked Freeman at the Box Hill Game (27/6/15) and he said he would be back in two weeks.

Maybe I misunderstood and he meant back on the training track

Hopefully he can get in a couple of VFL games and maybe finals?

Glad you posted this. It highlights the fact that despite what many posters seem to think, the club doesn't deliberately try to pull the wool over our eyes. If Nate genuinely thought he was two weeks away back against Box Hill, then the logical conclusion is that he had a setback, and the club reported that setback to the supporters accordingly.

The usual suspects will ignore that though, because clearly it's all a conspiracy against the supporters because we can't handle the truth... or something....

There is this weekend, but not next weekend seeing as the seniors are playing in Sydney.

You may be thinking of the Tigers game the following week which was talked about as being moved to the G as a double header, but is now likely to stay at Vic park.

Leaves us with our last 3 VFL games of the regular season at Vic Park.

Freeman will meet the eligibility criteria (which won't apply to him anyway, given he is highly unlikely to play AFL this year) by playing a further 2 games to bring his tally this year to at least 6. But as I said, that criteria doesn't really apply to him anyway, because Regulation 20.3 only applies to AFL players who have played AFL after July 1st in the relevant season. He's already met the requirements of Regulation 20.1

Macaffer only needs to play 1 game to qualify for the VFL finals, and again, he's not likely to play AFL this year, so the 'six VFL games if you have played AFL after July 1st' clause doesn't apply.

Regulation 20.5 will apply in the first week of the finals anyway, which provides for unrestricted selection, because the first week of the VFL finals falls on the weekend of AFL Round 23.

Id be surprised if Freeman played this year and just as surprised if he ever gains the full explosive speed he had as a junior. Last years 3-4 week hammy has been a 2 year injury.

3 strikes for 2 years? More like he's brewing the stuff and we're trying to hide him from the police.

Injury update has just come through, and it's as positive as we could hope for under the circumstances.

Goldsack is being put in for surgery to get his knee tendinitis fixed. Won't play again this year.

Abbott, Broomhead and Ramsay are all doing well, but won't play again this year. Will be fit to start preseason on time.

Freeman's hamstring is not too bad, but the club has decided to put him in cotton wool again for the year, so won't take part in VFL finals.

Gault should play this week.

And that's all folks! The injury list is actually looking really good for this time of year. Barring some sort of disaster* in the last two rounds, our whole squad should be able to get a full preseason under their belts heading in to 2016, which will be massive given our injury woes of the past few years.

Surprise surprise on freemans hamstring not being too bad. They did and said the same thing last year. Put him in ice for a Crack at it next year. Work well once let's do it again!
