Ben Reid (calf)
"Ben missed (the VFL) with a calf problem. That’s now looking like it maybe might even be a strain. He’ll miss this week, hopefully no longer than that. He is certainly short term. It’s pretty disappointing."

Levi Greenwood (thigh)

"Levi missed the game. He had a bit of soreness in his thigh. We’re pretty confident, in fact, very confident that he will play this week."

Tyson Goldsack (knee)
"Tyson missed with knee tendinopathy. He’ll be out for as long as it takes. He won’t play this week, hopefully the week after he will be available. But we’ll make sure we get it right. He’s short-term."

Brent Macaffer (knee)
"Brent's knee is coming along pretty well. He’s having a run and a kick. He’s still got a bit of work to do to get himself back to playing, but it’s very we’re moving in that direction. He’ll play later on this season. "

Nathan Freeman (hamstring)

"Nathan has had that hamstring which has taken a fair while to come good. He’s doing a reasonable amount of work on it but he’s still got a fair way to go so he’d still be medium-term."

Jackson Ramsay (shin)

"Jackson is still pretty slow with that shin. It’s been very frustrating for him, as it has been for us. But it is a stress related injury and however long they take, they take. We’re getting on top of it fortunately but it’s still medium to long term."

Tony Armstrong (knee)

"Tony had a bit of soreness in his knee. Illiotibial band syndrome. He’s been a little bit sore but he’s recovered reasonably well so we’re pretty hopeful that he’ll play this week."

Brenden Abbott (knee)
"Brenden hurt his shoulder in the VFL and had to come off. But he’s responded well and we’re pretty confident that he’ll be available this week."

The good news is that Grundy, Scharenberg, Sinclair, Kennedy, Dwyer, Young and Seedsman are all in the frame for senior selection. Still plenty of competition driving performance.

The moment that ended TWO seasons for Nathan Freeman...

Would of been back much sooner had he done an ACL

Yep, but at least the timeframe was extended because we re opened the case in order to stop it happening down the track. Also had a decent chunk of training and a bit of VFL in that time so it's not all bad. Should never wish an ACL upon anyone.

We reopened the case because he had lost his explosive speed in his VFL return, the hammy never healed properly originally.

Every time he would get the ball in the open he would jog then stop and look for a handball target

My point was more re doing a full pre season and at least experiencing the VFL. Obviously there were reasons to re open the case and the reasons weren't positive ones. But the fact he did the pre season will be huge come next year.

On Reid - Just play him next time he's fit.. I just want to see him in the seniors again.

On Freeman - Nothing but bad luck for this kid.. really feel for him. I hope there aren't any complications down the line.

No chance Reid will be back next week if he's strained the calf again. Looking at 3 or 4 again. Mark my words.
Yes if they say "he'll miss this week and hopefully no longer", you can assume he'll miss at least a month and you'll be right far more often than you're wrong.

Such a shame as well, he really looked good in that game! I hope he gets it to come good.. His a type of player who could really develop into a player we havent seen at the pies for a while.

And Marsh!

Sorry, forgot Marsh. With Reid effectively out of the picture for this year we need to fast track his development as much as possible.
