Thought all you footy fans might be interested in participating in this Inquiry.

The Rural and Regional Services and Development Committee of the Parliament of Victoria has commenced an Inquiry into Country Football. The Committee is to report to Parliament on the impact of Australian Rules Football on life in rural and regional Victoria, including the effect that the decline in the number of rural Australian Football clubs is having on country towns. Football’s current strength, factors which impact on participation and the impact that specific costs are having on rural Australian Football associations and clubs will be considered. The Committee will examine ways that peak football organisations can support the future success of country football and participation in sport in regional and rural Victoria.

Pleased to hear from you, Kate. I saw a similar article in the Weekly Times last week ... would love to get involved but unfortunately time is in short supply these days so will get the documents and then hope I can find enough moments to see if I have an appropriate contribution.

Great to see the Vic government being so positive in regards to undertaking a study such as this.
While I would never be so arrogant as to say football is the most important sport in the land, it is the one that unifies us the most.
Studies such as this, if they are acted upon, will be important to the future survival of country football.
