Provided that Spida plays enough game time in the reserves and is given the nod, I think the changes would be like this:

IN: Spida
Out: Davis

White basically came into the side against Kangaroos to help Jolly with his ruck and occasionally spending some time up forward. With the inclusion of Spida, White can play more as a KPP up forward and help out our deploring forward line who seem to kick less goals than our midfielders.

Depending on how well he goes in the reserves i would like to see Playfair get a shot as at the moment we are seriously lacking in a tall power forward (though im not sure Playfair could fill that role either but he has a better shot than anyone else).

Logical reasoning, except I didn't think White offered much either. It's really a toss up between Davo and White. Forward line pressure is definitely very important in the next 2 games against sides with pace. Perhaps Brennan could offer something?

Mathews 2nd BOG in the reserves in a row, must be pushing for a place?

Yeah, I was quite stumped about White's possibilities of making it to next week's game. He didn't deliver much but I wouldn't want to expect much from debutant (comparing it to Jack's, Moore's and Cheese's debuts would be a bit unfair). Would like to give him another go at the ressies. Hmm.. and about Craig Bird...I actually forgot how he went.

Yeah Bird did pretty well, his best game of the season. I do think he's been slightly disappointing so far though, Maybe just too much pre-season hype.

No obvious In's IMO apart from Spider if fit. If he is then I'd most definately drop Davis. If you're going to get 3 kicks a match, you can't get away with missing easy shots - no leeway at all.

definitely bring Everitt in. Even if he's only 70-80% fit stand him at full forward when he's not in ruck and he'll be too tall for the dogs. Should give White another chance too. Nick Davis has had his chances, he could of put us 4 goals in front in 2nd qtr but hit the post, didn't seem to upset about it either.

Hope Playfair gets a run soon. They need to win the next 2 at home to get some confidence and stay in touch with top 4. Impossible to win flag from outside top 4. Fosdike and Malceski will bring some speed back too hopefully soon.

Am still spewing about today. So important to win away games.

This is a game we always struggle with and one I hate seeing on the roster.

Having said that, we've scored 120+ in every game, inc. decent defensive teams (St. Kilda and Adelaide), and you guys seem to be struggling (to score) without Barry...

Should be a good one. :thumbsu:

In: Everitt, Mathews
Out: White, Davis

Everitt should be right now and Mathews has been playing good footy in the 2nd's so im guessing he'll get the go ahead for next week.
NOOOOO!
i do not agree with ANY plan to bring back mathews, no matter how well he's going in the twos
the dogs are a FAST side, why bring back a bloke who's NOT FAST???
but i do NOT want white dropped
why? bring back spida, yes, and play white as a regulation full forward
if you drop davis AND white for spida and mathews, what do we do up forward?
o'loughlin is not going well enough to be the lone key marking target, and going on how the likes of o'keefe have been kicking, it would be insanity to drop TWO forwards (although davis surely has to go ... again)

Neither Davis or White are going to kick many goals so even with both of them in the team we still wont have a overally powerful forward line.

Agree with this totally. Mathews may be going well in the two's but he is not the sort of player that we are missing at senior level.

Davis for Everitt makes perfect sense and gives us many more options up forward. When Jolly is rucking if you put White and Spida forward who exactly would the dogs have back there? Would they be forced to put Minson down back? (that would be to our advantage). White would have too much pace off the Mark for Hudson and Would Lake take Spida??

Everitt comes in. Probably Davis out but otherwise White. Hard call. The forward line looks brittle but White is very inexperienced and I don't know if he is the answer. Playfair is the answer but he will be required to play atleast another one in the reserves. When do they play Murphy?

Our problem is kicking goals - can't see how adding Mathews to the team is going to do anything but increase the amount of stoppage time.

J Bolton is the biggest liability in the team now (and has been for over a year). Buchanan is not far behind him this year.

I think there is more upside to retaining Davis than Bolton, particularly as our forward line is struggling and our midfield is dysfunctional. However, Roos likes the latter more than the former so it's likely Davis will be dropped.

Is Everitt match fit yet?

I recken Everitt will play this weekend. Maybe put him the ruck, Jolly up forward, and drop Davis? I love Davis but god he needs to pull his finger out.

What's the deal with Fosdike and Playfair? I want to see Playfair in the seniors sooner rather than later!!

like leaving LRT at centre halfback, white should be left in the forwards
this is obviously dependent on spida coming back and our two ruckmen being on deck
white deserves to stay ahead of davis
and i've read the comments about jude bolton, understand the frustration, but he's been better in general play this season than last
i acknowledge and understand the fury at his pathetic goal-kicking

as for amon, who knows
he's been real good in a coupla games this year, but invisible in others

maybe pat vezspremi is closer to a run in seniors than we'd think

Where's Tim Schmidt at?

As soon as he's fit, either Amon or Bolton should get the boot. Probably Amon, since he's showed absolutely nothing this year.

But for this week, get rid of Davis. Bring in Spida.

I dont understand that logic. The Swans are having serious problems in the Forward Line so some peoples solution is too get rid of a forward and replace him with a ruckman.
if we play players in their best positions it won;t be a problem
spida has to come back, that's a given
so white is moved to key forward, taking pressure off micky o, who is better against the opposition's second or third key defender, where he can either outmark or be too tricky
white takes the main defender
davis and o'loughlin can;t be twinned up front because both have issues
one is not as agile as he was, and can't be relied on to kick all the goals
the other is flakey and lazy, and also can;t be relied on

Why would White take the main defender? He will only be playing his 2nd game in the AFL and from what ive heard about him in the reserves White isnt exactly the type of player who will score a bag load of goals each week.
