Would not be surprised if Mathews comes in for Ablett.
i'd rather smith
and i still hang on to a faint hope of white holding his place
he was not that bad last week, but then, smith was not bad against the cats and got the chop
there's something a bit weird about the team at the moment

Mathews has been our best player in the reserves so he deserves to be the player to replace Ablett. Also on another note i know Mathews will retire at the end of the season and that he is currently on 196 games, i really want to see him reach 200 before he retires.

I think having Playfair and Everitt in provides much better balance to the side, especially in the forward line. White is still a work in progress and the one game will do him good. He will get other ocasional games but has only been in the system for 2 years and KPP types normally really start to be consistent after 3 years+.

Matthews should come in for the injured Ablett, with a strong hint to other experienced mid-fielders (Buchanan, J Bolton) that when a fit Abeltt, Schmidt & Fosdike come into contention; the former may need to find some form with Davis.

On Davis I would seek to play him on the wing; tell to chase, pressure etc until his legs drop off and it becomes second nature to him. Also get him to practise coming off the wing and kicking his traditional long bombs for goal. I suspect a determined, in-form and on song Davis doing this might give us an option if we see the flooding on the 50 metre arc.

I think that's a good idea. It's probably too easy for him to sit back in the forward line and not get involved - partly because he doesn't get good delivery or enough delivery, and partly because he doesn't chase enough, partly because he is playing out of the square and hard to get involved, and partly because there is more chance for him to feel sorry for himself and get even less involved.

Out on the wing he is freer to use his natural ability to find the ball and find space and deliver inside 50. We don't know whether he's fit enough or not because he's never really been tried there for significant time.

Brad Seymour on SEN said Davis won't be back till he learns to chase and put pressure on opposition backs.
Matthews in for Nogy due to a badly corked calf, which i believe after seeing him last Sunday night,Spida and Playfair also in

I think there is a rumour going around the WEST may not play. Seriously though the Swan game plan falls over without a strong forward like hall. Sure you may win stoppages but no one to score down there. I think Everitt coming in is a desperate move to have another scoring option. Won't work. The Dogs are pumped to prove they are a good team. Swans are the scalp we want and will hunt. Dogs team is settled and playing good footy. Prediction is a 40 point win.

I think Everett coming in is consistent with our game plan of using two ruckman? As soon as he was fit enough he was always going be to be in the team. Perhaps you are referring to the inclusion of Playfair.

I think you would be accurate that the swans are looking for another scoring option though with Hall missing we are suffering from it.

Mate, you don't know what you're talking about.

Everitt a desperate move? He's our 2nd ruckman. As soon as he was fit, he was always going to play.

I agree he is part off your best 22. I say Desperate because he is not fit. Surely you would concede that. Two games in the Reserves hardly constitutes fitness. I think you are desperate for another Marking option. Hey if it works good luck if not then so be it. I just think its a punt.

Yeah... you need a full season in the ressies to be fit.

We are desperate for another marking option up forward hence why playfair is playing. Everett has been worked back from his injury and many people were calling for him to come in last week but Roos did not flinch and left him in the two's for another game. Obviously he is till working his way towards full fitness but he was always coming in at this level of fitness regardless of what was happening at the club.
