Just wondering who everyone thinks whowill come into the side for Chris and what other changes we might have for our game against the tigers.

not sure if he could play it yet stefoid he didnt get much time on the ground on sun but i dont think they could afford to drop him this week.So i think they will probably bring in a tall for granty and see what happens with birssy to see if they will make another change as i cant see them dropping anyone else.

I think bring in Skipper if Croft is not ready.

As for Birss.....I dont think he will play. I think maybe Sam Power or someone like that will come in. Someone with pace. The team will get a bit of a chage around I think.

Harro made a few mistakes but he is usually reliable and we need all the reliable defenders we can get.

I think we sould bring in Croft if he's right to play...we don't want to risk it. I think we should bring Power into the side, but if Croft doesn't play it should be Skipper. Was McMahon an emergency last week?

We should be able to do better. He wouldnt get a spot in too many other teams I reckon.

On a brighter note, it was very pleasing to see our infamous '2nd tier' stand up and help out the top 6. Nearly every player we named as being important for 03 had a good 'un.

I think the players confidence in each other and in rhodes game plan from the geelong win will do wonders.

Over the last couple of years we have had a few wins by big margins, and won some notable games like against essendon, but I dont think any win has been as satisfying as this win given the way they went about playing their footy, do you know what I mean?

Sure do, particularly as an ex-rugby league supporter I enjoyed their smashing their opponents.

Ofcourse we should. the thing with Harro is that in no area of the game is he really horrible. Unfortunately he has no real strengths either. In no possie would he rank in the top 2 players we have for that role. He gets a game because he is a 'reliable' back up for most possies on the ground. He is the cricket equivalent of an all rounder that can't get a game on his merits for his batting or bowling, but gets picked to provide a little extra cover for both.

Basicallty i don't think Harro provides enough to keep out a young bloke like skipper, who if we get some games into now, could be a very big plus by the end of the season or certainly for next season.

judging for the recent news its:

out: grant, birrs, harrison (hamstring?)

in: skipper, macmahon, bowdo

these changes are pretty much 1 for 1

give crofty a light run in the VFL, no need to risk anything at this stage of the season.

IN BOWDEN SKIPPER MCMAHON

OUT All Injured GRANT BIRSS HARRISON

EMERGENCIES : POWER BRUTON HARRIS

Croft to line up for Werribee, Bandy to play forward for the whole game because of a slight knee injury. McGuinness to start on the ground and probably play back to block the area that Richo leads into.

Is this for sure or just your preferences?

Bandy has a knee injury?

Skipper and McMahon were close last week. Bowden played well for Werribee and he is logical replacement for Harrison who is injured. Croft is underdone and a big risk unless Rohde plays him off the bench or on the forward line.

My team for this week.

B ROBBINS BASSETT KRETIUK

HB MURPHY BOWDEN SMITH

C GUIDO WEST DIMATTINA

HF JOHNSON SKIPPER GARLICK

F WIGGINS BANDY BROWN

R DARCY HAHN ALVEY

I MCGUINNESS MCMAHON HARGRAVE EAGLETON

apparently he playd a good game for the bees and kicked 5, plus we lost grant and harrison, so we need more height.

I don't think playing a guy simply because he's tall is a good enough reason

However, if he's coming off a good game and all, i see merrit

However!!!

If skipper were to come in, i would presume he'd be tried at CHB. If Bowden also came into the side, i presume he'd be given a go in the forward line.

After watching Brown play FF and Wiggins start on the bench, i'd be a little unhappy if Bowden was coming in the side as a forward option. I'd like to see Wiggy left at FF for a whole game and see what the can do.

Then again, if Skip plays down back with Bandy moving to perhaps a CHB roll, then Wiggins at FF, Bowds at CHF or vise versa with Browny as a crumbing/pocket forward could be an option.

assuming Croft isn't ready then I would include Harris ahead of Bowden. It will take more than one game to convince me he is willing to put in.

With the membership numbers increasing a win is vitally important this weekend to keep the momentum going. Teams have a history of rising the next week after injuries but we will go in with a huge lack of experience in the key positions down back.
