I got de ja vue with Leroy's goal last year against Adelaide. :D
pay that! :p

Is Neon Leon carrying an injury? Might be worth it to rest him a week to get him right. No sense risking him getting something worse this early in the season, and we have plenty of players waiting in the wings.

If he is it'll hurt though because he plays well against Carlton, I still remember those 2 ripping goals from the match last year.

Yeah think he has a little niggleing problem, was with the doctor on the bench. which shows me he is not 100% right.

Bring in a kid that got drafted last year who hasnt made a game yet,, bring in Luke Rounds i say! havent seen much of him. anyone know whats he like?

No change unless it is a forced one.

Sure there where a couple of guys below par but as has been mentioned even in games like today not everyone is going to have a day out, Maccaffer worked hard and was more unlikely then playing poorly. Davis and Medhurst all put the effort in and I don't think warrant dropping.

Our structures looked really good today, now a lot of that does come from the midfield dominance but I don't think it is something I'd be changing. I think the Caff has been doing just enough to keep his spot and was unlucky today, I think he is a very handy inclusion against Carlton who lack key defenders as he is a mid sized foward who can play tall. With Cloke looking so comfortable closer to goal I think Caff playing as a link half foward could be important if Dawes has a poor game. Either way I think he will help stretch the Carlton defence and could get under the gaurd. He is a smart footballer and works hard and I think helps structurally this week. The option to come in for him is Tarks and he plays a lot smaller (because he is a lot smaller)

The sack and Wood will need to do their time. Our backline has looked really settled for most of the year and I don't think there is a place for Goldsack at the moment.

Fraser can't be dropped on last weeks form so Wood has to do the time and earn his place in the magoo's.

Presti needs to be given time, even if he is fit Carlton don't have a tall foward that demands Presti play so he can sit this one out IMO.

Not sure about Barham but I like the strategy in general. If Macaffer goes out (and I'm in two minds about that) he should be replaced by a quick youngster who can "run with". Perhaps even a first gamer.

As long as its not Lockyer or O'Bree.

Yeah im in two minds as well.

Just thinking about Barhams leg speed.

He could possibly play a tagging role as well.

Perhaps even bring in Goldsack or McCarthy

I agree about the Lockyer and Obree thing although I believe they will both find their way back into the team.

If Leon or Reid don't come up I would bring in McCarthy for Leon and Goldsack for Reid.

Give Presti one or two more weeks to rest.

Goldsack is a big chance to come in with their 3 small forwards and his good form over the past couple of weeks in the VFL.

If Leon and Reid do get through the week fine then I would say;

In: Goldsack

Out: Macaffer

Re: ins and outs vs carlton

Can someone tell me where Macaffer was playing on the weekend? I didn't see him in the forward line (where he normally plays at) and only saw him a little bit down back.

Goldsack has a horrible history on small fowards who actually play small. He towards the end of the year started to look pretty good on medium sized leading fowards or smaller leading fowards but he has really poor form on guys similar to Betts and Garlett in particular.

its obvious they are going to stick with little indigenous boys up front and waite will probably come in for walker, so does Henderson or O'hailpin require a presti or can the reid and brown fit in with the our skipper, heater, tooves and harry to handle the 2 talls plus the mosquito brigade...is it harry that normally takes Eddie Betts?? The more I think about it we should be ok ........maccafer is the only question mark, if any but i would love to see the sack back

I think our deffence maybe to tall for their forwards and maybe we should rest Reid and bring in a Buckley or goldsack to play one of their small forwards. We should win easily, 6 goals is my predicted margin.

Where are all the fraser bashers this week?

Even nick maxwell was moved to say that when josh was gesturing at the crowd, itwasnt just at essendon fans.

Out: Nathan Brown (didn't play to bad against essendon but I don't think he will be required this week and Reid is probably more deserving of the spot)

In: Barham (played pretty well in the VFL and his pace can be utilized against carltons midfield, also had a good game against carlton last year so that could provide him with some confidence going in)

don't think Macaffer should be dropped because of one game were he was fairly quiet, i think he has a spot in the side and can only get better with experience and he wont find this experience in the VFL.

Give Presti another week seeing that he is not desperately needed against carltons forward line and bring him back fresh against north melbourne.

Re: ins and outs vs carlton

Davis and Medhurst were very good despite stats.
You need to realise how critical the forward pressure they supply is to our gameplan. Lockyer doesn't provide that.

Absolutely correct. Watch the first quarter. Davis, Medders and Steele all hunted together. Tough to get the stats when you are causing the turnovers. We have other great players around them to take advantage of the pressure.

im watching t replay right now as i didnt get to see the match today, i reckon we should give leon a rest, i just saw him come off onto the bench looking to have a little bit of pain and talking to the club doctor. i reckon his is the week we bring in Rusling, Thornton cant take on cloke dawes rusling and fraser by himself :p

If you still have the tape watch a couple of minutes before you see Davis on the bench not looking the best.....

It was at the stoppage before that. Ball was about the get the clearance when Davis swooped in pretty quickly and connected with Ball. Davis dropped immediately after the contact.....thought he was just winded at the time but if he was even a little sore from last week then he might be pretty sore after hitting Ball.

As a lot of people have suggested after Carlscums win against da Puddies, I think we need to drop one tall & bring in a small.

OUT: N Brown

Played a fair game but I think if one tall is to be dropped to combat the dung beetle fleet, errrr I mean, mosquito fleet, then I think he misses out. Reid offers more as a rebounding defender than Brown who is pretty much a negating defender at this stage.

IN: Barham

His speed & tenacity at the man could be invaluable in that crumbing fwd line.

Even if they bring Waite in, I think Reid with Maxy's help will keep him from being a match winner.
